First solo trip since Jan 2020: what I packed

Happy to report I landed Siem Reap safely yesterday. It felt surreal that I haven’t traveling without the family for so long. I told the girls a week ago and they were fine. But just the night before, Lizzy came to me crying so sadly, holding me tightly for a long 20 min. It was heart breaking to feel her sadness. In the context of recent incidence in the US, I couldn’t but hold her a bit tighter and longer. Fortunately Sofia is mature enough to be fine, assuring Lizzy that mama will be back, and offered to sleep with her that night.

After a rather poor night of sleep I left home 5:30am to catch 7:40am flight. I packed one suitcase this time and only had a backpack on flight, which was so convenient.

For 3 days of work, 4 travel/free days, I packed

  • 1 black skit
  • 2 dress shirt
  • 1 work jacket
  • 1 casual jacket
  • 3 t-shirt
  • 1 jean short
  • 1 Pj
  • 1 running short
  • 1 tight for outdoor activity
  • 2 sport bras
  • 2 sport tanks
  • 1 running hat
  • 1 sun hat
  • under wears and socks
  • 1 pair of sneakers
  • 1 pair of sandels
  • 1 pair of flip flops for the shower
  • yoga mat and 2 lbs weight

snacks so I don’t need and athletic greens as vegetables consumption is expected to be low, electrolyte and peppermint tea

medicine/supplement: herb for my dry eyes, artificial eye drops (4 bottles!!!), dry eye medicine, tylenol, bandit, thermometer, allergy medicine, dulcolax, nasal spray, throat candies, magnesium, omega 3. I think with this stash, i’m well covered for most of incidences.

skincare and makeup, self explanatory 🙂

It was my first time flying Singapore airline. I really like it, especially the entertainment offer. I watched Parallel Mothers, and 5 episodes of And Just like that. Love them both.

the first flight offered breakfast, which was okay. The second flight was light lunch (beef noodles).

11 hrs after I left home I finally arrived siem reap my hotel room, which looks nice including a small garden facing the pool.

I was quite tired, didn’t go out for dinner, had some snacks I bought and went to bed before 8pm local time (9pm Manila time). Tomorrow will be a free day as the retreat starts on Monday, will see what I will do with full day on my own.

  1. That looks very relaxing! And more than half the trip is free time, amazing. I’ve never gotten free time on work trips, they’re always fully packed with work stuff unfortunately, and I even rarely get to fly in the night before. 😦 How do you like athletic greens? They have ads in a lot of podcasts but it’s so expensive that I don’t even dare to order.

    1. I just started, Will let you know. One thing that I did like after trying for 2-3 months is probiotic seeds. It’s expensive but worths the hype.

  2. All looks great! Impressed with your nice light packing- seems like very smart choices. I always struggle with packing. I’m too indecisive, never sure what I’ll feel like wearing. I suppose is much easier if the weather is guaranteed to be a certain way. Around here it can be hot but also chilly at night, etc so it is just complex. Enjoy your alone time! Hope you found something fun to do on your free day.
