It took me 36 hrs to get home after I left Chicago and I am not complaining! 🙂 My flight from LAX to Tokyo got delayed for 3+ hrs so I missed my connecting flight from Tokyo to Jakarta. Instead of being upset about it, I embraced it as it was actually nice to take a break from flying from 4 hrs + 12 hrs flights. Also, it reminded me how EASY and CONVENIENT is to travel in Japan.
After some time spent at luggage counter to find my missing hand luggage that I was forced to check in Chicago, I walked to the hotel, literarily 10 minutes from arrival area.
Looks super nice. The check in process took 1 min as it was through a machine.

my room was not spacious but had everything I needed including charger!!! my phone died at the time and my charger was at the missing luggage. They also provided pj, leather sleepers

when I walked to have dinner I saw this stand. so convenient! instead of calling housekeeper for more supplies, one can just pick.

dinner was buffer and had all sort of Japanese dishes, except sushi. haha… I joked with husband that this is the first Japanese buffet that doesn’t serve sushi.

but they did have udon, ramen, tempura, grilled fish and meat

there are western desserts (cakes) and Japanese mochi. I loved the mochi.

I slept 5 hrs and woke up with a beautiful sky. I even spotted an old man jogging

breakfast looked like dinner.. which is pretty common in Japan.

I love ending my meal with some dessert, even at breakfast.

the fly home took 6 hrs, still with one missing luggage. I was so happy to get home with open arms. Sofia was at swimming, Lizzy was rollerblading while eating dinner. 😀

I was so happy to be back home, and hug my family for a LONG time! I missed them so much.
Maybe because I never got over the jet lag in the US, I slept 8 hrs both nights since I got home. Hope it continues that way. 🙂
I am glad you could enjoy the unexpected layover and I am sure your girls were just so happy to have you back!

That sucks about the lost luggage!! I haven’t had that happen in quite awhile! Usually when forced to check a bag, it’s a pretty sure thing that your bag will get on the plane. I hope you have it back by now! That hotel sounded awesome. I’ve never seen a hotel provide a charger!!
