Joyful things and moments (v2)

Moments:

  • Morning chanting from the nearby mosque between 4:30-4:50am.
  • Wake up naturally (I never set an alarm) at my usual time, 4:25am today, and realize hubby is still sleeping beside me, soundly.
  • Love seeing his sleep score matching mine
  • Opening the bedroom door and find Cookie waiting outside at 4am. She follows me to the kitchen, I pet her for few seconds, she goes back to Sofia’s room.
  • Finding joy in reading, non fiction. I get excited when a blogger/substract review books as kids find new type of candies. I don’t read them all, but I get excited to read about them. When a book pops up multi times, I’d read a sample, abandon it easily, or download the full book.
  • The cold room when I get ready to sleep. I turn the AC on 30 min before when I plan to go to the bedroom. Thank goodness for modern technology.
  • A security guard told me something in Bahasa with a smile while I was running passing him. I didn’t understand what he said, but I could guess he said something like: good job, keep it up!
  • Unexpected old song pop up while I running. It transports me back to a certain period of life and I smile.
  • The idea of buying a just-because gift for husband makes me feel excited and joyful.
  • Figured out a new way to position my lamp at 4:30am that illuminates the room in a cozy way
  • working out at the gym with husband and Lizzy after work
  • Reading this feedback from my coach
  • Seeing my old team mate in Manila in a zoom call. We texted each other right away: gosh I missed you!

Things:

  • My running sunglass. I love the look of it and how it works. When I wear it, I feel cool despite having the sun on my head. It’s magical.
  • New bowl from IKEA. I love the feel of it, I love the color, I am so glad I got them despite having so many plates/bowls already. After using them for 1 day, I stored away old serving plates for good. (will share vegan meals lately soon)

  1. That is a really nice and encouraging message from your coach. All of your hard work is paying off! It is such a wonderful feeling to be at peak fitness. I miss that feeling from marathon training!

  2. Your work space looks so cozy and I love what you did with the lamp!

I see you also use TrainingPeaks, yes? My training program also uses TrainingPeaks and I love the interaction with the coach. Do you pay for the premium version? (And yes, you’re really, really fit right now :))

Oh, I am intrigued by your running glasses – what are they? (I usually run without glasses, they distract me, but maybe it’s also because I don’t have a good pair.)

    1. I use TP but don’t have the premium as I barely understand those stats. I think it’s better to let the coach figure them out 🙂

this is the sunglass I love (after trying many including goodr).

  3. Wow, you get up early! I get up at about 5:15 and thought that was early. I think if I heard morning chanting, that would wake me up, but in kind of a cool way.

    I like those plates!
