- I didn’t have to rush out for my rush and come back before 6:50am for my 7am meeting, which happened 3 times this week and was not fun. Instead, I meditated for 25 min! It felt sooooo luxurious.
- I had my planning done for the day and meals of next week before 6am!
- I got to enjoy the cold office corridor all by myself! Nobody came to office. I worked for 3 hrs and called it a day.
- I went to get groceries at 1:30pm on a Friday. It was packed but I felt so accomplished to hav all the supplies for the weekend meal prep I want to do, and protein for next week dinners for the family.
- I had a coffee catch up with a colleague friend. I kept rescheduling it because it is not urgent and I just had too much on my mind lately. She has been so accommodative and we finally made it happen. It was super nice. When she shared about her work/life situation I had to cringe. Either leave her job, or leave her adopted kids if one paper work doesn’t work out. GOSHHHH… I wouldn’t want to be in that situation.
- I ordered a home spa massage. Although my legs felt more sore after the massage than before, it was a good 90 min passive meditation while someone really worked on my muscles.
- I made tacos for the family, it is so nice to gather at the end of the day with everyone over a good meal.
- We finished the last piece of ice cream cake from Sofia’s birthday party. She is growing by the day. Every time I look at her, her baby faces come to mind and I can’t believe she’s almost a lady.
This weekend plan:
- CHILLLLLLL
- NOT open work laptop/email
- Make baking goodies: banana bread, crepes, breakfast cookies
- Watch a movie or continue intermezzo, in bed, half asleep
I sometimes also postpone catch-ups with friends (although, I always try to go for a walking catch-up instead of a coffee catch-up). And then, when I finally get to do it, it’s always so rewarding.
I’m very sorry your friend is in that awful position – I hope she will make the right decision and that all will turn out well for her.

Your weekend plans sounded wonderful! I haven’t baked in so long but I would like to make something fall-themed with the boys soon. They both love baking and it’s a good way to teach them math in a real world setting!
