The more I travel, the faster I learned to smooth back to family life as soon as I get back. Saturday I arrived home 11am, unpack right away, got groceries with the girls, had abundant vegetables as lunch, and took a long nap. I was still feeling quite tired so went to bed early to read, and fell asleep before girls finished their movie time.
Sunday I woke up feeling half way better, meditated for 25 min (glorious!), had no rushed time drinking mate and reading blogs/newsletter, before heading out for my run. It was not a great run as I was still tired from the trip. The highlight was to finish the run with Sofia, exploring a new running place 1 mile away from home, Jardins Botanico. It’s soooo nice!!!!! Why did it take me a month to try it?!

It has shaded path, bike paths, and there’s a restaurant inside that sets up picnic tables. It was fully booked by 9am. We got lucky to find a table for some juice. Sofia and I agreed to come to run here on Sundays. I’m going to change my running schedule to have LR on Saturday and easy recovery run on Sunday so we can spend more time checking out the garden.

Girls spent the morning doing their homework. I had a long hot shower, then oatmeal followed by some weekly planning (picked up my journal that is basically empty for May). Then I did 30 min yoga for runner and realized how tight I was, no wonder my pelvic/hip area has been sore after runs.
I made burgers with fries for the family

and a big salad to share. I love adding tons of roasted vegetables together with fresh vegetables, chickpea, avocado, and homemade dressing. I could feel my body getting nutrients!!!

Girls made arts as mother’s day gift, which I love! We didn’t do anything special to celebrate but to be together. Husband said yes to all my asks including waking up in the middle of his nap to go to garage sale.

I watched 2 episodes of The Eternault while girls played. I did another 30 min yoga for stretching before bed, and it felt great. I should join Nicole for the 100 days project, for me would be to stretch!
Our weekend was low key and exactly how I like it and badly need it. I don’t have overnight biz trips scheduled in the next few weeks. Maybe we can start tackling 2025 goal list! 😉
Happy week everyone, this week we will receive partial shipment from US storage. It would be a “fun” experience to discover what we left behind 8 years ago, and finally graduate to have a real dining table.
I’m so glad you’re discovering new places that will be go-to spots to visit and revisit. That must really help make your new place feel more like home.
And hooray for a bit of down time. Wow. You’ve been so busy these last few months, so I can only imagine how good it feels to stay in once place for a little while and settle in to some semblance of routine.

Yay, I would LOVE if you joined the 100 day challenge – all that stretching will feel so great, Coco!
That SALAD OMG. It looks so good. I love adding roasted veg to salad too. It just makes it so hearty! I also add roasted chickpeas for a little crunch, maybe some pecans too for extra protein. Yummy!

Happy Mother’s Day! I’m glad you don’t have travel for a while and could recover with a low key weekend. Mine was pretty chill too. I love the artwork! So cute. The park cafe looks adorable. Great find! I totally need to stretch more as well. I’m hesitant to commit to anything for 100 days though because I have just felt like I have a lot on my plate right now and have been kinda overwhelmed as it is!

That park looks amazing! Going there each Sunday will be a great new routine. I hope your travel slows down a bit! But the more you travel, the easier it gets as you get into a routine and bounce back quickly.

Unpacking items that you stored away 8 years ago will feel unreal and exciting, all at the same time!
That’s a great idea to do the recovery on Sunday so that you have more time with the family.

That looks like a beautiful place to run! I like this new Sunday routine for you.
I’m very inspired by your salad. When I get back from this trip (eating out while traveling doesn’t always equal the healthiest options) I’m going to start making big salads for dinner. OOOH. I could do a “100 days of salads” challenge. Am I up for that? Maybe…
I know I’m a little late commenting and now there’s another weekend coming up. I hope it’s a fun and relaxing one for you!
