This week is flying back and everyday I finish tired and wonder what did I do? lots of meetings! what did I do in those meetings? Nothing that makes me feel productive or good use of my time. Yet, somehow they are part of the work. I am planning to batch the meetings, have two days a week to have just meetings, and then 2 days or at least two half days open so I can actually think and review.
Our work news’ situation hasn’t resolved nor will resolve very soon. I’ve chosen to trust the people in the institution to come out with a sensible way forward, meanwhile I will do my work and well. But I can’t help to notice the overall sentiment at work which is low and panicking.
My carefully designed sofa arrive and it has issues so it’s sent back. Sigh….
100 days project STRETCHING is going strong. I look forward to the evening stretching time to unwind.
I have reviewed my 25 list and planning to tackle two first: read a chinese book (I am choosing a nonfiction to read in the morning), and try a new activity (indoor flying experience).
The weather in Brasilia is amazing: 50-60s, needing a jacket, perfect for my running, although I am cutting back to 5 days a week instead of 6 to strengthen my hip area and ankle stability first before ramping up to marathon training section.
I really enjoyed reading Elizabeth’s post about her parents and childhood. Sarah’s birthday pic made me smile. I am quietly enjoying Kae’s Whole 30 challenge as her meals are varied and creative.
I’ve started a new Portuguese teacher after having one that did not work for a month. I’m hopeful this is the right teacher.
I’ve met my coach this week, it’s a one on one leadership coach due to my new role. I instantly like her and already learning some wisdom in the first session. For example, relationship building is fundamental to effective leadership. I need to spread seeds daily. This is counterintuitive for me as those require time and I don’t them as part of work, although I’m starting to realize that’s part of the process.
I had my first in office while working manicure, organized by office. What a brilliant idea.
A manicure while you work? That really is GENIUS!
That is so frustrating about your sofa. Hope second time is a charm!

What a week! I tried once to keep mornings meeting-free for real work and push all calls to the afternoon – but that dream didn’t survive the hierarchy. So many meetings could be emails… sigh.
Sorry about the sofa! Custom stuff always finds a way to go sideways. But I love how you’re keeping balance with stretching and fun goals (indoor flying sounds amazing!). Have a good weekend!

I hope the work stress subsides soon. It’s hard to have that anxious buzz in the air for a long period of time! The office manicure sounds so nice, though!

I love the idea of 100 days of stretching! What a nice way to unwind at the end of the day. A manicure at work! Lovely! My daughter used to work somewhere where they would sometimes bring in a masseuse and get a free chair massage, which she loved.
I’m really behind in blog reading, going to go investigate and figure out what the work stress is. I’m sorry that it’s happening, though, it sucks.
