Mood in BA: perfect day to celebrate 45!

I should start calling Buenos Aires my perfect mood city!!! I love everything about it, the lively city, the sun, the historical belle époque buildings, the dark humor of Argentinian tax drivers, the malls, and most importantly of all, my vacation time with my loved ones.

We arrived Buenos Aires on Christmas, my actual birthday. But since it’s public holiday, most of places were closed so we took it easy and celebrated it the next day instead.

The next day I started with a good run, without route, without plan on miles, just to enjoy the city and my own smile and sweat.

photo to record my smiling face before the start because I knew it will be a great day if I start it with a good run.

I came back and found the girls eating breakfast. Facturas are their favorite!

I had lots of gigantic white peaches and yogurt for breakfast! so fresh! and kept wondering why we can’t find big peaches in Brasilia. Then we went to the mall. After 2 hours browsing most one shop for me, I bought 4 sets and felt euphoric! I don’t think I’ve ever spent so much $$$ in one buy for such small pieces of clothes. That’s called self care right? I told the girls that when I grew up, I always fantasized buying from this store, and now I can finally buy it!

then we went to the vegan restaurant I booked for lunch called Chui. As we entered, the vibe (in an old factory) felt similar to the one we visited in Cusco. They serve creative vegan food for non-vegans I would say because they were too strong in flavor and heavy, not my type of bland vegan food. But the family enjoyed them.

my loves!!!

then we walked to a flea market near by where husband enjoyed browsing. By 4pm, everywhere was exhausted by the walk, the heat, and food coma so we went back to our Airbnb. My knee was bothering me a bit so I found a sport massage place nearby. He really fixed my tight muscles. I’m booked for another session before we leave Buenos Aires. I wish I had him in Brasilia.

We then went to a groceries store to stock up on snacks and yogurt. Girls had yogurt and cookies for dinner, husband made a greens dish and kabocha for me. That’s his love language 😉 He cooks while we travel, while I cook when we are at home. Interesting no?!

I was in such good mood the whole day. I love that this trip we are not in rush to do touristic things, but to just be and go with the flow.
