where did the week go?

coming back from 10 days trip mean a lot to catch up, work-wise, lifewise, especially because it is a 3 days week.

Jet lag is hard, the fun part is to complain about it with colleagues at work, and jointly decide to leave early for a nap. I took naps Monday and Tuesday, someone had to wake me up for dinner. Wednesday I had meetings the entire day until 6pm, otherwise I would have napped. For 3 days I woke up 1:30am, 1 day at 3am. Sigh….

School is ending soon and girls are leaving for China with daddy the day after. I am starting to get nervous about my upcoming single-life, first time in over a decade. I am trying to be positive about it, writing down things I could do when 24/7 is fully at my disposal:

  • sauna before bedtime
  • wake up and go back to sleep
  • read until tired
  • no tidy up would be needed if I’m alone
  • go to explore local attractions alone or with a friend
  • watch Netflix
  • finally do 2022 photo book
  • plan family trips after summer break
  • cook food that only I’ll like
  • try pilates class
  • get a hair cut

What would you do if you have full days for yourself?

Sofia and I are heading for a 3D2N trip to visit Bromo and Ijen, highest volcano mountain in Java, and an acid lake. Lizzy is going with daddy to visit Taman safari as I’m not sure Lizzy can hike for 2+ hrs. Hope we all have a good time.

Leaving you with a fun pic girls took. 🙂

  1. I can think of about 4,263 things I would do if my family all went away for several weeks!! Hope you can enjoy the time to catch up on a few things you might not normally be able to do as easily when you’re in full on parenting mode.

  2. Oh what a great picture of your daughter (and a slice of pizza)! They are playing with depth of field.
Like Kate said I would think about 1,000 ways I’d spend my time. But I would prioritize reading, exercise, meditation, writing, making meals for myself. Sauna, walks, hiking. Being with a friend and having a deep conversation.

  3. It will be weird at first to have the house to yourself. That never happens for me, aside from when I WFH but I’m busy with work so it’s not like I have much control over how the day is spent. I would love a weekend alone in our house!! I would easily fill the time and would get together with lots of friends without feeling guilty about time away from family!!
