Slowwwww island days

3 days in Gili Air was the perfect way to end our trip. It’s a small island, with no motorized form of transportation, surrounded by beaches, amazing sunsets, and our gorgeous 4 bedroom villa. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to wind down this trip. It is probably one of my favorite place in Indonesia so far, after Komodo Islands. I love how slow it feels living here, not much to do, sooo hot during the day, flies and ants everywhere, birds and gecko make sound all day long. I love that girls are entertained by themselves playing games between rooms, spending long hours at the pool, and just hang out and be happy and silly.

First day, we arrived around 2pm and explore the island a bit. Husband and I went out to find some food and ended up at a Taiwanese restaurant for noodles and dumplings and frozen yogurt

Then around 5pm I took the girls to the sunset beach for drinks

The sunset was beautiful

The next day we didn’t have any plan but to relax and “celebrate” our 8th anniversary. We started with breakfasts at the villa prepared by the two kind men

Then husband and I biked around the island for 2 hrs, exploring beaches and feeling gratitude of being in this idiic island to celebrate our anniversary.

Then we took the girls to bike around, Sofia by herself and Lizzy with daddy.

Then we booked a couple massage at slow spa, such a romantic place perfect for the occasion.

Can you see how happy I was?

Then we met with the family to go for late lunch/early dinner? Our meal time is so random on vacation.

I had vegan spinach crepe that was perfect

Shared a smoothie bowl with husband

Then I took the girls for dessert.

The rest of evening was chill at the villa

Our last day started with snorkeling trip to Gili Meno, 10 min away on boat. The snorkeling was good, the highlight was a dozen of sea turtle we saw. Sofia even feed it with seaweed, and found a golden engagement ring.

We got back to the villa for brunch, chill out, and went back to the sunset beach for pizza and drink.

This morning I woke up early to enjoy the quiet villa for the last time before we need to leave.

What a wonderful trip. Hiking a challenging mountain with good friends, followed by a week of beach time with the family and their friends. Can’t ask for a better holiday. 🙂
