Weird obsessions

The other day as I was choosing the spoon for my oatmeal, I realized how much I love cute spoons, so I thought what other things bring me joy that might seem weird to others, not that I mind 🙂

  • Spoons. I love small tea spoons, all shapes and material. I keep buying them when I see one that I like. Sometimes I keep the ones handled on flight because I love the shape.
  • Bowls. Similar idea but I have to be picky as they are heavier and takes more space.
  • Notebooks. I used to love paper notebooks, going to stores with all writing/school supplies was one of my favorite things to when I was in China.
  • Coffee/tea mugs. I used to collect them when I visit a new place. Then when we moved to the Philippines I realized I had too much as we traveled often. I may still buy few beautiful ones if I encounter them or when we visit a special place, just not everywhere we go.
  • Runner shoes. I probably have 8 pairs at the moment. I only use them when running thus they are colorful.

What are your “obsessions”?

  1. Oh this is a fun post! And now I want to see a photo of your spoons! My biggest obsession is books. I looooove books and like to own books. I have reined myself in a bit over the years from buying anything to really focusing on a handful of books I really want and a handful of authors I really love, but I still have so many books. And want more.

  2. I also want to see a picture of your spoons and your bowls!

I like to collect magnets from museum gift shops, but my fridge is getting pretty full now, so I may have to switch over to bookmarks.

  3. I like to collect mugs but now I have a FAVOURITE and so I’m not sure if I’m going to keep buying mugs since I love this one so much (purchased in South Carolina this year when visiting family).

I don’t collect many things. I like notebooks, but tend to throw them out when I’m finished with them.

We all get a new Christmas ornament each year and I really do love adding to that collection!

  4. Well my youngest is right there with the love of spoons. He loves to pick out his spoon and sometimes picks out 3 spoons for a meal. He also oddly likes to eat with measuring spoons, like a tablespoon measuring spoon.

One thing I’m obsessed with is smartwool socks. I love that brand of socks so much. They last for so long and are so warm and cozy. Smartwool socks are ESSENTIAL for us Minnesotans. I ask for them every year for Christmas.

  5. I think I am a runner with the least number of shoes. I usually only have two pairs at a time (most runners have so many, but it can get expensive to buy running shoes… LOL).

I am definitely with you on the pretty bowls and mugs. And I also love notebooks although I don’t use them enough to justify purchasing more and more.

  6. I love mugs and notebooks… but I’ve never thought much about spoons! I also want to see a photo of yours.
I have a real issue finding running shoes that fit me well- so when I do find them I stick to one pair that I wear over and over again! I know some runners have lots of shoes, but not me. Right now I’m clinging to the Altra FWD’s for dear life.
