Borneo day 1: chill chill chill

This must be the most relaxing trip we’ve ever been because we spent the most of the day just chill on the boat while going through the jungle.

Our flight arrived 7:10am, met with the guide who took us for breakfast while we wait for the boat. Sofía loved her orange drink that doesn’t look anything like orange. Hahaha

We got to the boat before 10am and this is where we will spend the next two days. One could sleep in the boat but I decided to sleep in a lodge so we don’t get too sick of it and because I worry about mosquitos and insects.

This has been my position for most of the day.

We cruised to three national park, saw wild cocodrilos and monkeys. It’s very peaceful view and the girls spent most of the day lounging there, listening to music as I brought a speaker and loaded on black pink and Taylor swift

We rested a bit at our lodge before we went to the feeding deck. There are 5000 orangutans in this jungle, 4500 of them live in the wild, 500 of them are semi wild as they were previously captured and now in the process of returning to the jungle. The national park has 3 feeding stations, and put food for them to come once a day so they could come to eat but cannot purely survive on human feeding, so they learn to get food themselves. Most of the orangutans we saw were female and their babies. Very cute.

We stayed there for like 40 min watching different orangutans come and go.

Our lodge, very basic but has AC and shower. Very much appreciated to catch some sleep as we got up super early.

Overall, we are enjoying the nature so much. Lizzy said while cruising through the river: this is so peaceful. And Sofia said to me while walking to the feeding deck: the peace is so nice, it gives me space to think.

I spent the day finishing my book, and ready for something lighter. 🙂

Hope you all are having a good thanksgiving!

  1. WOW WOW WOW, so amazing. And what a perfect way to see this beautiful scenery, on a boat where you can just relax. I’m afraid I would fall asleep and miss it all.

  2. I would absolutely LOVE THAT! For some reason I imagined you traipsing through a jungle- but this is so much nicer. It seems so relaxing and peaceful- the perfect way to see this jungle.
