Favorites of jungle trip

We are back to home! Our last day in Borneo started leisurely at 7am, breakfast and left the Rimba lodge at 8am. We spent our last few hours chill, fishing, listening to blackpink, and girls chatting with our guide. We got to the airport 12pm to catch our flight at 2pm, and arrived home 4:30pm.

I asked the girls what they like the most of this trip:

Lizzy: the guide (he’s really the nicest guide, always explaining things to the girls, consulting me about our meal times and day plans, and playing with the girls when I am reading).

Sofia: relax vibe as she spent most of the day looking out without doing much nor thinking more.

Me: so many! I love the feeling of time slowing down, the jungle trek, spotting unexpected animals, the crew, not having to worry about meals, the sound of the jungle, the daily rain.

Although we don’t like to see all the bugs and dirt in the jungle, and the basic toilet situation (as Sofia put it), I welcome the experience as we are city girls and could benefit from getting used to the nature a bit more. After just 2 days of jungle life, I am less scared/worried about bugs, ants.

As I type this post, I am already thinking we should visit Sumatra too, another jungle with lots of wild animals. Mmmm… just need to convince the girls 🙂

This is the view 80% of our day, love it!

Daddy got back from HK midnight. He had a blast too! I am so glad that we changed the travel plan so he could go to HK to see exhibitions of china, his second love (me the first, obviously) 🙂

  1. Sounds like a really cool experience! Something my family would like for sure. My boys enjoy nature experiences quite a lot. Would be super cool to see orangutans in the wild! The boys loved seeing all the monkeys in Costa Rica since we don’t have them where we live.

  2. Oh, so there were bugs (I was asking about that in your last post.) But it sounds like an amazing trip. I’m not usually a fan of “roughing it” but you’re right, it is good for us now and then.
