Weekend happening

It was a rather busy weekend, a fun one for the girls.

Saturday: I did my run and then went to the sauna for 20 min. Then I remembered why I stopped going to sauna. I felt dizzy, exhausted, tired for hours!!! I had to ask daddy to take the girls to the talent show to let me rest. I don’t know the mechanics of sauna, but for some reason I don’t do well no matter how short I spent there.

Sofia did great with her friend on the gymnastic show while Lizzy had fun watching all the shows. I was glad that I had “excuse” not to go because the whole thing lasted 3.5 hrs! I am grateful for daddy to take them instead. I spent the afternoon reading, resting, making cookies for the family. I felt back to normal by the evening. I guess I am not going to sauna again anytime soon.

Sunday started with 12 miles solo easy run before I picked up with Sofia. It wasn’t a good run for her as she got side stitches few minutes into the run. We took many stops to let her stretch, breath, and finished 2 miles easy jog. I never get side stitches so not sure what caused it. I told her that she might be out of shape for running, once a week run is not enough. She might starting to add one more short run during the week.

I know she is running to spend time with me, not that she loves running as much as she loves swimming. I am happy to know that and I hope that as she runs more, she gets over the uncomfortable part of starting to run, and starts to enjoy it some. We did our usual round of getting drink and snacks before heading home.

Sofia had a farewell party at her classmates, so Lizzy and I had a solo “date”. She dressed up for the occasion and we went to a near by mall.

we did Photo Booth

clock machine. She got a toy using the free coin that the store gave her! How lucky!

We had lunch with daddy who played indoor golf while we went around. Once home, my massage therapist just arrived so we both had 90 min massage in our own bed. How lovely.

Overall it was a fun weekend except the sauna incident.

It’s Monday morning 5am and I already feel like needing another weekend. heheh…. anybody feels the same? I am looking forward to this week’s farewell party for my dear friend K at our place. We are having Pakistan food! 🙂

  1. Oh, a 90 minute massage sounds so lovely! And I love Pakistani food. It sounds like a great weekend (aside from the sauna incident – though at least you were able to stay home and recover).
