24 hrs until the race and my sole objective of the day is to rest and stay calm.
The girls were going to participate the kids run but due to street closure we never got to the starting line. Instead, we explored a farmers’ market, seeing so many varieties of cheese, seafood. Then daddy started his museum exploration, and I took the girls to the Luxembourg garden as the day was beautiful.

I absolutely love the vibe of the garden. Super chill, beautiful, many kids and people having picnic. Girls played at the playground, and I went through my pre-race notes. We spent almost two hours there until we got hungry and left. I could spend more hours here reading and people watching.

Lizzy wanted pizza so we got to the first pizza restaurant we could find. Pizza is dangerous to my GI so I skipped that and had a sandwich on the go later

After lunch we went to citypharma to get some Paris best review skincare. It was soooo packed, mostly tourists. The price is much cheaper than the U.S.
Then we went back home, to rest up my legs. As I am not running much this week, while the family feels like we are walking a ton, I feel like not moving at all. Hehehe…
Daddy took the girls to get dinner while I prepared my race outfit, play list, set pace alert in my watch to avoid going too fast, wrote down my word of focus for the 4 segments of the race, and chill.
Dinner was sweet potato, toasts, yogurt and some broccoli. As simple as it could be.
I feel ready. Excited and calm. I want to see Paris while running, it’s really stunning! And mostly I want to explore the city without having to worry if I am doing too much. Fortunately, we have another week after the race, so these first 3 days serve like teaser for what’s the come.
Ready, calm, and extremely grateful.
That’s too bad the kids couldn’t do the kids race! I saw in a Paris Facebook group I’m still in from when I was planning our trip that it was insanely crowded yesterday with all the marathon prep and people. 20,000 participants!! That’s crazy. But what an amazing running vibe that must be. Sounds like you had a perfect pre-marathon day while still enjoying the city but keeping things low key and resting up.
I’m currently tracking you and this is sooo exciting! You’re at mile 20 and doing amazing. I am so so proud of you and you inspire me!!

I am glad you can now enjoy the city now that the race is behind you – and you have the huge satisfaction of a huge PR!!! And when all the racers leave, Paris should be more quiet, too. Have the best time seeing the sights and enjoying delicious food!!
