Paris day 6: starting and ending with Eiffel Tower

We woke up greeting the Eiffel Tower with lovely baguette toast with avocado and eggs. I swear that the amount of bread we are consuming is so much that I’m surprised my GI didn’t go strike yet. Is the flour different here???

We went to sacre coeur after a slow morning. It was a weird weather day. It was cold, windy, sometime raining. We put on all our clothes just to be cautious. We took some good pics before the sky turned gray

I loved the small streets and shops on the way back. Super picturesque. We got some bar soaps as souvenir.

We stopped by moulin rouge before lunch

Girls had non-French cuisine

Husband and I had their day menu: salad with cheese balls, and French version of Pho with raw beef.

I didn’t like them so husband had double portions. I’d rather have a baguette than these not so great food.

After lunch, husband went to check antique stores. Girls and I went to another sezane store as I was determined to find something I like. I got a silk blouse that I liked.

we got home at 4:30pm. It was super early by French standard. So after some rest we went out again to explore the Eiffel Tower. It was just 10 min walk from our airbnb.

We also explored the market across Eiffel Tower, very touristic

Then it started to rain heavily so we waited it out in a gift shop until we could walk back. We got chinese takeout on our way back, watched ford v Ferrari (so good!) and went to bed past 10pm. So late by our usual schedule but it felt right in Paris somehow. 🙂

Logging 22000 steps. Girls are getting better at walking, less complaints, more fun chats.

  1. I believe that the wheat in France is different than in the US, I don’t know about Indonesia. I have a friend who has terrible flares after eating wheat in the US, but when she is in France she can eat whatever she wants. I’m not sure why. Probably better farming practices, less cross contamination, no Round Up, etc. Anyway, ENJOY!

I love your pictures, it looks like you are having a wonderful time. ❤

  2. I have heard the same about the flour being different in France. I think it has something to do with the amount of gluten in the flour or something. I remembered reading about it when I read some memoirs about cooking in French.

I’m glad the girls are handling all the walking well!

  3. Well, bread is delicious! Glad you’re able to enjoy it- the flour probably is better quality than what we have in the US (but not sure about Indonesia?) You got some great photos. It looks like the girls are having fun!

  4. The food looks amazing! And yes, I do believe the flour is different in Europe… (at least it’s different from the US!), so maybe that’s why you didn’t mind all the delicious bread 🙂
