Paris day 9: Disney park

We “sadly” left Paris and transferred to Disney Paris. We took the RER and enjoyed the 45 min ride. I agree with Lisa that public transportation in Paris is pretty good. Coming from Shanghai, I would say Shanghai’s is even better as the trains are brand new. The stations in Paris are old and smelly sometimes but overall I am pretty happy with it. We moved around with exclusively public transportation.

After we arrived the station that is in front of Disney entrance, we took the hotel shuttle to our hotel, checked in, got our passes, stored luggage and took the shuttle back to the entrance, all done within the hour.

Finally got to explore Disney Park

The moment we entered, I felt festival and magical. I love Disney for the vibe, the feeling of being a kid again in the wonderland. The Castile is quite impressive

I didn’t do any planning and Sofia browsed the attractions on the day. For our first day, we basically checked on the spot which lines are not too bad, within 60 min, and just hopped on. Not strategic but I like it this way, more spontaneous, less rushed, less goal oriented, more chill, and more space to stop by anything that we feel like stopping. We ended doing quite a few:

Blanche neige

The carousel

The tea cup, girls did this one by themselves as I went to pick up daddy from the entrance

The buzz light years

Star tours (my favorite so far)

Sofía did the indiana jones and the temple of peril ride by herself

They did star war hyperspace mountain, Lizzy’s first time doing a roller coaster. Husband and I just chill and waited for them by the exit. We joked that we should just send them alone. They can handle this 🙂

We were pretty tired by then so we went to Disney studio to watch the Mickey Magician show. Very nicely done.

Got a souvenir for Lizzy, so happy to have her new pet. We also saw two parades during the 8 hrs we were at the park.

We got something to eat before heading back to our hotel. The sleeping situation is not ideal as we got one room with two queen bed. I didn’t mind as I use earplug and blocks 90% of noises, including everyone’s snoring. I fell asleep quickly as I was quite tired by 10.30pm. Sofia didn’t have that luck as she couldn’t sleep with all the snoring happening. Poor thing. After trying for a long time at 2am, she finally got some sleep at 3:30 in the bench of the bathroom 🤣

Very nice beginning of our 2.5 days Disney trip. It’s quite interesting to be near Paris but feeling 100% being in the US. ☺️

  1. oh no, poor Sofia! I sleep with ear plugs too but Phil does not snore and I don’t think my boys do either. I have had to sleep in a room with snorers and it is HORRIBLE! I would need to fall asleep before the snorer falls asleep.

But I am glad you had a magical first day! Hope Sofia can rally and still enjoyed the day today despite getting so little sleep!

  2. Looks so fun! I really think Disney is so fun and there is something actually “magical” in the air there compared to a regular theme park. We’ve only been to Disney World in Florida (3x) with the boys (never Disney Land or Paris or others) but we’ve had the best time. Love the pic of Sofia rocking the roller coaster all by herself!! Your husband doesn’t like rides?? My husband has no fear of any rides at all and doesn’t seem even slightly bothered by the drops or the speed or anything. haha. Fortunately we all like them so it’s fun we can do them together. But Disney has so many great rides that aren’t scary or fast at all. I think that’s what makes it so fun! The theming of the rides is just so great.

In Hawaii we will have a regular 2 Queen room for our stay in Oahu, and then a 3 bedroom condo in Kauai. I REALLY prefer multiple bedrooms- or even more importantly, multiple bathrooms!- but given the prices and the options in Oahu we had to go with a regular hotel style room. Now that the boys are older it’s harder to be in and out of the bathroom after showers, etc… or to have space to be in bathroom using mirror for makeup/ hair while others need to shower and all of that. But oh well. At least in warm places like Hawaii I can kick the boys out on the balcony for a while to get some more space in the room. lol!

  3. Oh, this brings back so many great memories for me when we took the kids to Disney! How fun for you all. I agree with you that the sleeping situation is always much improved by separate rooms though!

  4. It looks like you’re having a lot of fun! I hope your daughter gets better sleep tonight, and that she enjoys today in spite of being tired.
