Paris day 11: 7 rides in 2 hrs before departure

We woke up “early” at 7am, packed up, stored our luggage, and went to the park taking advantage of early entrance by hotel guests. Oh before that, let me show you Sofia’s sleeping location. She started in bed, woke up 11pm, then both myself and Lizzy were snoring hard, frustrated, she moved to the bathroom bench again

She woke up with back hurt but still preferred than snoring sounds.

1. We started with revisiting buzz light year laser blast

2. orbitron

3. the big thunder mountain , Lizzy was a bit scared but wanted to go back after 5 min

4. We all visited phantom manor, less creepy than I was expecting and girls didn’t like it much

5. Dumbo the flying elephant

6. Carousel round 2

7. And Les voyages of Pinocchio

we wanted to do Peter pan’s flight but the line got long and we were all cold. The weather was completely different than the previous days. So we left the park while taking last look of the park parade

We got lunch on the way back to the hotel. Waited a bit and caught the Disney bus to the airport. We left almost 4 hours before our departure time and I am so glad as we didn’t have too much time to kill until boarding which was 45 min delayed.

Girls did Kumon while we waited to board. They were not doing it everyday so it was perfect time to catch up so they have flight time to watch TV.

Daddy took an earlier flight so we will meet him in Jakarta.

That wraps up our Paris trip which was EPIC for so many reasons. The marathon, having the family cheering me up and achieving my sub-4 goal and huge PR, the most romantic city, the great locations we stayed, all what we saw and tasted (crepes and baguettes), Disney Paris, all went perfect!

I am not particularly sad for it ending because I know we will have another great trip in the future. The more we travel, the more we know what we enjoy and do less things that we don’t, and have zero FOMO. I also have many exciting things happening at work in the next two months including domestic and international trips.

To smooth return to regular schedule, I’ve

– ordered groceries and asked our helper to cook dinner for our arrival day

– wrote down to-do lists (work and life)

– tackled the most urgent work emails while waiting to board

– scheduled catch up with friends virtually

– scheduled manicure/lashes extension

– set the expectation to the girls about returning to normal eating and bed time. They were getting one treat per day, and zero vegetables most of the days; and erratic bed time. Time to get back on track to feel good.

  1. All the best with re-entry. What an epic trip that covered so many things! A huge marathon! Paris! Versailles! Disney! My head is spinning just thinking about it, but what a major success that things went smoothly.

It’s so wise to have things planned out for when you get home!!

  2. I bet Lizzie is so ready to get back to her bed! Sleeping around snorers is TERRIBLE. My ear plugs can’t even block that out if it’s really loud. I can’t handle any sort of noise when trying to sleep. The first night in Florida, the toilet would run every 5 min and I COULD NOT SLEEP! The next night we shut the water off and I slept much better.

I hope the return home goes smoothly. I am always very happy to get back home after a trip. I love our day to day life and where we live. I did not always feel that way. I was so depressed when I came back from Paris in 2011. But I made some changes to my life when I recognized how bummed I was to be back to life in my suburban condo (I rented my condo out and moved downtown).
