Today I brought a special guest to the office, Sofia. She’s not going to the camp this week, to record her piano exam, and to chill a bit so I invited her over to my office. She brought her Kumon sheets, snacks and kindle. She sit in am empty desk by the corridor, so my colleagues all sayid hi to her. She barely disrupted my work and then I took her to lunch at one of my frequent lunch place.

I really enjoyed her company, the casual chat during our walk to and from office and at lunch. We rarely have solo time that is not scheduled so I welcome this opportunity. She feels the same way. She also enjoyed observing how we work, my colleagues, and the office culture.
I will take her with me the rest of the week that I go to office. It gives me extra motivation to be efficient so I can take longer lunch break with her.
My stomach acid reflex is back, unfortunately, I can almost predict it coming as it’s mainly stress related. I am trying to manage it since last week, resisting to take PPI. Let’s see if I can avoid that, but going to see a GI doc this Friday. If I really need to take it, if ulcer is present, then I’ll take it. Sigh… I need better stress management strategies.
July 10 4pm EST time will be my deadline to get over this stressful period. Yay!
Aww. That’s so lovely that Sophia can go to work with you; she’ll remember these experiences for the rest of her life!
Hope the stomach things settle quickly – ugh. Hopefully the GI doctor will have some good ideas for solving the issue and preventing it from flaring again.

What a lovely office mate you have this week! I love it!
Sorry about the acid reflux – ugh, that sounds unpleasant.

That is a fun office mate! My company is planning a bring your kids to work day but mine are years away from being old enough to participate. Paul would probably be ok to bring but I have so many client calls so it would be hard to monitor him. But in 3-5 years he could come with me.
Sorry to hear about the acid reflux issues, though. That is so painful. I hope it gets better soon!

hi Daria. Both girls read, Sofia much more than Lizzy. I don’t do anything other than modeling and spend time reading with them, me reading my book, them reading their books. I also don’t restrict/direct what to read as long as they read, obviously kindle can set age limit and I see what I borrow from kindle unlimited.

How cool you were able to take Sophia to work with you. It’s a good experience to see what mom does all day 😉
You might know I had problems with (silent) reflux and stomach aches as well… and all the doctors want to do it throw PPIs at you, which I also refused to take. I also wonder if it was stress-related for me (although I didn’t feel particularly stressed when it happened). I hope it gets better for you.
