  1. I am the medical concierge of the family. Every time any one needs medical attention, I am the one booking the appt, taking them to the doctor if I can. Today I am taking the girls to dentists, both require some fixing. I also booked dermatologist for Sofia, dengue vaccine shot for husband, and colonoscopy for husband for when we return. Sometimes I wish there’s someone else who can deal with these appts. Yet, I am grateful that we can afford medical care and can usually book the appt right away.
  2. I am trying not to catastrophize about our rental expiration in two months. Our lease is expiring in two months and we have no clear path forward. Extend the lease or more to another unit/condo. I just tell myself that even the worst case scenario (moving to a new condo) is not a real crisis. Thanks Kae to remind me this.
  3. I am 80% over jet lag. Last night I slept 7pm to 3:30am. Almost solid 7.5 hrs, just requires a bit more shifting. Hopefully I get adjusted to the local time zone in the next two days before our trip.
  4. I am super excited with TBR loaded to my kindle. They are mostly fiction read, light and breezy. I am also happy that the kindle I left in the US is finding its way back to Jakarta. I realized I left it in the hotel bed when I got to the Dulles airport. Then I asked a friend to pick it up from the hotel, give it to a colleague who’s traveling from DC to Malaysia, then someone else from Malaysia went to Bangkok for a training attended by someone from Jakarta. Finally the kindle is handled over to my team who will return to Jakarta today. What an adventure of recuperating my kindle.
  5. 50% of the family got Australian tourist visa. Sofia and I got it instantly, while daddy and Lizzy’s applications are still under review 5 days later. It’s so random how they select who to check. Hopefully we get them soon so I can start booking flights.

  1. I just loaded up my Kobo (ereader) for a trip too! Not as exciting as a trip to Australia, but I’m looking forward to it.

Yes, it’s not a total disaster if you have to move but it’s still a pain! Ugh.

  2. Gah the expiring lease would stress me out soon. They must give you more time to decide what to do? Seems like a decision has to be made by 60 days for most leases in the US. Hopefully you figure out what to do soon. Moving is awful so I would renew unless you had a really compelling reason not to!

So glad you are getting your kindle back!! I use mine daily so would be lost without it!!

I handle mine and the boys’ appts and take them to most of them although Phil will take them if need be. Phil handles all of his appts, though. Plus he is on his own insurance. But even if he was on mine I’d still leave those tasks to himself. I did ask that he get a physical as a wedding gift as he had not had one in years. He is very healthy but you never know what blood tests might show. Now he gets routine ones around our anniversary each year. We are not gift people so this was the perfect gift for me!
