It was a super chill weekend. We had no outing, no meeting, but stay at home mostly except for kids swimming. Sometimes I feel like we could do more on weekends, but honestly this is how we like it, to rest, relax, do whatever feels nice at the moment, be spontaneous, and a lot of family time. Some highlights include:
Saturday Indonesia’s independent day celebration at our building that started with games at 8, snacks and lunch. We only went there to get food/drink and some fun pic/videos taking.

The rest of Saturday, after kids’ morning swimming practice, piano lesson for Lizzy, and lunch/snack at the building party, girls spent few hours doing homework. When they finished, we went to the mall as we saw a sign for slime making. Girls both did it and really enjoyed. Husband went to watch the new alien movie, and I binged Presumed Innocent (LOVED IT!).

Sunday was the usual. 14 miles easy run for me, girls had 2 hrs. swimming practice, then chill at the home.
We had a bubble making competition with chewy gums that was fun.
Lizzy played with lego.
Sofia organized her room.
I took a nap while starting a new book.
I made bliss balls for girls snack this good.
I updated google calendar as Sofia is starting swimming practice at school already. Her days are getting busier!
Workout report – AEROBIC week, aka de-load week with easy runs, no speed, no long runs.
Monday: 6 miles shake out run. Felt well recovered from the 16 miles run on Sunday. 20 min yoga.
Tuesday: 9.5 miles easy run on treadmill. Air quality was bad so decided to stay indoor. I listened to audiobook and then watched running related YouTube videos. It went by fine, didn’t hate it. 30 min full body after work.
Wednesday: 7 miles on TM again due to bad air. I was a bit tired after this, which seems usual by now since I don’t take Monday off anymore.
Thursday: 8.2 miles on TM. You guessed right, bad air quality. I felt better on this run thanks to good night of sleep. 35 min full body after work.
Friday:Β 40 min yoga.
Saturday: 9 miles on TM. I don’t hate TM, repeat with me, I don’t hate TM. π 30 min runner strength workout (single leg, stability, core).
Sunday: 14.5 miles easy outdoor. YAY! 10 min stretch, 10 min abs.
Total miles: 55
Strength training: 3
Yoga: 2
As Jakarta enters dry session, I expect more bad air days to come. I am changing my mindset of hating TM to be grateful for having access to a nice gym with plenty of TMs for all runners in the building. I also enjoy listening to audiobook while the music is not on yet (before 6am), and then I switch to watch documentary about running. Those trail runners doing 100 miles races, insanity but so inspiring.
Now that I need to take Lizzy to school, I can’t do strength training in the morning. I am experimenting to go to the gym after work, and so far I’ve enjoyed them.
That sounds like a nice weekend, Coco! Sometimes it’s nice to just chill out.

I think you did plenty this weekend- swim practice, piano lessons, trip to the mall- if I do too much on the weekend I feel tired starting the work week on Monday. It’s nice to have some time to relax.
I don’t hate the treadmill either- any running is good running! As you said, you’re lucky to have that option when the air quality is bad.

I always love low key weekends. π
Sounds like a good de-load week although I chuckled when you said “no speed work, no long runs” but then you hit 55 miles including a 14.5 mile run on Sunday LOL
