Ideas that resonate with me

We come across a lot of ideas, most of them pass by quickly, but few remain with us as they resonate with the stage of life we are in. Here are few this week

Elaine, the blog reader that I met in Perth, shared the anxiety built up before her call week. That the call week is not bad when it actually happens, but the weeks/days leading to it is full or anticipation and anxiety. I feel exactly this way for the next phase of my job situation (interviews). I know it is normal to feel this way, yet I feel a heavy weight on me.

Do the one thing that you are afraid or procrastinate first thing in the morning from Tim Ferriss. It’s almost certain I can identify which of the 1-3 tasks I want to do the least, so I’ll tackle that one first and feel huge accomplishment for the day.

Prepare for the show time, think about worst scenarios, outcomes, anticipate things don’t go as planned. Excellent tips for a big event. In my case, I am writing down potential/surely interview questions, my answers, and keep improving them as new ideas come along. 99% of those idea come during my runs, 1% during shower time. Those magic time!

This poem about peace that I hear from my morning meditation from Tara.

Do you think peace will come some other place than here?
    Some other time than Now?
In some other heart than yours?

Peace is this moment without judgment.
That is all. This moment in the Heart-space
where everything that is is welcome.
Peace is this moment without thinking
that it should be some other way,
that you should feel some other thing,
that your life should unfold according to your plans.

Peace is this moment without judgment,
this moment in the Heart-space where
    everything that is is welcome.

Elizabeth bravely shared her mental health journey. I really admire her openness and kindness with the sole purpose of making others feel normal. We all have mental issues. I do have anxiety and panic attacks from time to time, especially during stress period like I was in June before my DC trip, and probably now.

    1. Aren’t runs the best? I often think of nothing and that is very meditative, but sometimes I get my best ideas when I’m out of a run or hike or ride and I just let my mind wander. The issue is trying to remember them, but I often actually stop and make a note more and more lately because I do have trouble remembering! I wish you luck in this part of your journey, but it sounds like you are prepared!! If you’re anything like me you probably are over prepared and are likely going to be fine.

      1. Yes! I also stop and write my ideas down because I will definitely forget. And I like to be over prepared to go in, more for confidence purpose.

    2. I’m a big fan of doing the Most Daunting Task first thing in the morning. The quicker you tackle it, the sooner you will feel relieved and accomplished.

Just recently I read how we should let go of trying to control other people’s behaviour and actions. This has led to a shift in my attitude – I now have a more relaxed attitude and outlook.

    3. I try to do my least favourite tasks in the morning. I’ve heard it called “step on the snake before breakfast” or “swallow the frog first.” Sometimes I don’t feel up to it, but mostly I love the sense of satisfaction that comes from starting the day off strong.

    4. I love that poem about peace, especially the questions in the first stanza! Peace is not something that is super easy for me to come by recently. Life feels very hectic so I have really seek out peace or make it happen for myself. Closing my eyes and taking deep breaths really helps, though. As does running!
