What I consumed in a rest day

Full rest day, mentally and somewhat physically, worked like a charm. After my home-massage, I slept very well, went to bed 7:30 and woke up 4:30pm. The plan was to rest and do whatever I could take my mind off so that was what I did.

After my morning run at the gym, terrible air quality this weekend, I got groceries to make family’s lunch and excused myself to my office until it was time for lunch. Truly truly relaxing morning.

I made Hainan chicken for the girls, and made the simplest meal for me which is exactly what I needed. Steamed broccoli with chili sweet sauce, air fried tofu with nutritional yeast, and a big bowl of kabocha.

I watched more Netflix after lunch before feeling sleepy and went to take a nap. It was still 3pm when I woke up (35 min nap), so I stayed in bed and read until 4pm, feeling energized to move my body.

I finally made a soup, inspired by Tobia’s soup challenge. I made a zucchini, kale, and potato soup in the instant pot with some onion and garlic. It was super simple and turned out great! I topped it off with more tofu for dinner. Now I know I like soup, so comforting.

While girls watched their Netflix, I read, starting a new novel that got my interest after 10% sample. Love that feeling of finding something I think I will like.

By the end of my day, I felt my body and mind were recovered from the accumulated fatigue over the last couple of days. Not my highest peak in term of energy level, thanks to luteal phase, but good enough to feel normal.

Workout: 6 miles on TM super easy.

Watch while running: finished the interview with Derek. Love how his mind works!

Watch: the Lincoln lawyer. I’ve started a while ago but didn’t get through the first episode to like it. But now I get it, it’s quite good. Not as smart as the diplomat, but entertaining enough, and I love the fact that it’s season 3 already so a lot more episodes to watch. Thanks for all your recommendations, I’ve watched many of those that you recommended except the baking show, which I’ll check it out.

Read: finished meditation for mortals at 6am (love it!!!), the plot (15% in).

  1. I really liked The Plot and she published a sequel this year which I have heard is excellent. That soup looks so good!

  2. Your food inspires me to eat more healthily! Looks very tasty!

I enjoy the court room debates in Lincoln Lawyer. Fast and quick-witted sprinkled with good humour. The rest is a bit slow and sometimes predictable.
