Jet lag (zero progress), moving (progressing)

Day 5 since I got back and almost none progress so far. The last two nights I woke up 2am and 1am, exactly 4 hours of sleep. Both days I took 2-3 hrs nap. Other than that, I am running and strength training as if I were normal (I am not!). I try to bring normalcy despite jet lag. I did try melatonin twice and both time did not work. Sigh.

I am now working two shifts, 8-2pm, 6-9/10pm. First shift on Indonesia, second on Brazil. FUN!

Anyway, I did progress on the moving fronts:

  • signed the Brasilia house lease
  • got quotation for rented furniture in Brasilia as our shipment will take few months
  • schedule visa processing for Brazil for this Friday
  • the shipping company surveys our things and told me it’s too much and that I’ll have to pay if I want to take them all. Sigh….
  • figure out exit visa when leaving Indonesia
  • planned our trip to Bangkok for a swimming competition
  • decided on march trip to Brasilia (before relocation)
  • submitted tons of medical bills
  • submitted my 3 week travel reimbursement (what a pain!)
  • slowly starting to pack things up or throw them away

Still a lot to do

  • list things to sell
  • call Turkish airline about boarding with Cookie
  • clean and re-filling the sofa
  • use up all food related items in the pantry
  • more organization/packing!
  • apply for argentina and Canadian visa for husband

Next week my team will host a farewell get together, need to think what to say too.

  1. You have SO much going on with the move! And to be so jet lagged sounds terrible. You have to go back to Brazil again in just a few weeks, but it’s not the actual move yet? UGH! Way too much long distance travel and all the jet lag!! It will be so nice when you can just move and be done with all of it already. I’m stressed out for you. Hahaha.

  2. Uff, you’ve got a lot on your plate right now! I’m impressed that you keep up with training! Nicely done.
Hope the sleep situation improves soon – maybe your body just needs a bit more time to catch up. In the meantime, at least the to-do list is getting shorter (even if it doesn’t feel that way yet). Wishing you smooth progress on all fronts, especially with Cookie’s travel plans!

  3. I can’t believe how much you’ve gotten done while being so severely jetlagged! It really does mess our bodies up, but I know you’re good about prioritizing rest for recovery.

I’m sure your family is soooo glad to have you home and I can’t believe your move is so close!!!

  4. How many hours is the time difference? They say it takes that many days to recover- like if the time difference is six hours, it takes six days to recover. Of course, that doesn’t take into consideration other factors, like the fact that you’re working two shifts right now! It sounds hard, AND you’re traveling again soon. Well… hang in there. It can’t last forever!
