Sunday 5pm, I was preparing dinner with music on the background. Girls sit in our (borrowed) camping table with cut out fruit and doing mandarin. I said: this feels normal again, finally! Sofia looked at me and smiled.
Saturday was less stelar as I woke up with discomfort on my neck and tendon inflation on my hip that has been there for a week after run. The neck pain made me feel dizzy, short of breath (maybe out of anxiety) and tired. Yet we had some things planned for the day. First we went to a garage sale nearby. Lizzy got toys, I got a baking pan and a yoga block. Next, we went to a shopping to get taper wear for Sofia and myself to start bringing food to school/work, toward normalcy. We had a Brazilian lunch followed by gelato.

Girls explored the swimming pool, the garden when the sun was up as sudden thundersome could happen any moment

I asked my massage therapist to come to “fix” my neck and hip issue. 80 min later, with strong pressure, massage gun, cupping, I felt even worst as many parts of my body felt off. Oh well… maybe it is part of the “healing” process. I had appt for manicure so I still went with the girls. They patiently waited for me while ordering easter hunt eggs for the fun activity next week.
We got back, ate dinner, girls watched netflix, and I went to bed 7:30pm, hoping to wake up feeling better.
Sunday: I woke up with neck and hip pain completely gone! YAY!!! I meditated!!! (first time for a long time). I took a uber to the city park for a long run (without any idea of how long, ideally 10-14 miles). I was so happy that my body felt normal again. I did 9 miles before girls arrived to meet me. Then we bike around for 6 miles together, followed by another 5 miles for me while girls had acai bowl. What a great way to start the morning.
We got home almost 11am. I had late breakfast, planned for the week on my journal (again neglected for long), and took the girls for a throughout groceries trip. When we got back past 2pm, I made this combo for my plus a gigantic corn: salad and stir fry veggies with tofu, all from the farmers’ market that we have nearby.

girls asked for cheesy egg sandwich

Then I had glorious 90 min of napping and reading, just like old times.
4:30pm I started in the kitchen. I meal prepped oatmeal for Sofia’s breakfast, oatmeal for myself to take to office, and two pasta dishes. One for the family that had veggies and chicken that the family loved, and Sofia asked for leftovers for school lunch

and I made one for me with lentil pasta, veggies and tofu.
After dinner, girls cleaned the dishes (they do it every nigh now), and got ready for movie night. This is them looking at the microwave while popcorn was making its magic.

I did 15 min duolingo, wrote down to-do list for Monday, read a while more, and fell asleep.
I love this day because I got to do my usuals: meditation, long run outdoor, nap, read, cooking for the family, and relaxing evening.
Getting back to family rhythm feels nice and recharging.
pd. Lizzy didn’t sleep well Sunday night as her coughing was so intense and frequent. She has been coughing on and off since February. I booked a doctor home visit the next morning to get her checked out. Poor little girl. I hope she gets better soon.
What a great weekend! So nice to start to feel normal again after so much upheaval. The pool looks fantastic and so does that pasta dish!

I’m so sorry to hear about the coughing. Ugh. Those things can linger for so long.
But hooray for feeling a bit more settled. I’ve been making popcorn in a glass bowl lately (just the plain kernels with a bit of oil) and I love watching it pop! It’s mesmerizing 🙂

I am sure after all the chaos of moving and that that busy first weekend out on the lake etc that it felt really nice to just do your “regular” activities! Do you have to always Uber to park to run? Or just for the long runs? Are you able to do daily runs just from your house?

Yes I run around the house during the week and only go to the park on Sunday. Once we have our car, I may be able to drive there.

So I guess that massage worked! It just took a day. Your Sunday sounds lovely. Those are all my favorite things as well (minus the cooking, ha ha…)
About Lizzy- coughs can last a LONG TIME and sometimes you just don’t know why. My daughter had one of those. Eventually it went away, but it’s really annoying. I hope Lizzy feels better soon!

I’m impressed that doctor house calls are a thing! I can’t imagine that in the US unless you had a concierge physician (which is becoming a more popular thing for wealthy populations it seems). I hope she is feeling better. Lingering coughs are so annoying. Will developed a cough after his surgery. It’s hard to hear him coughing and was especially rough when he had a sore throat from surgery. 😦
I’m glad the weekend was otherwise pretty normal for you!!
