A day in life: 4.15.2025

Inspired by Elizabeth, I started drafting this day in life post Tuesday evening only finishing now Friday morning (which is a holiday). Work continued to take over my day with little breaks, but I am managing to get back meditation, strength training, and duolingo back this week. Small steps each way 🙂

4:30am I woke up naturally. Went to downstairs (YAY! to be living in two floors house again). While I drank my mate, I boiled the corns to take to office. That’s something I have started to do, bring snacks to office as there are no where I can get anything nearby.

I sipped through my mate while reading blogs, checking non-work related emails, mostly newsletters. I enjoyed reading Elizabeth’s post, so interesting to know details about another person’s life, isn’t it?

5:30am, I lied on our inflatable couch because Sofia was sleeping in the real couch, to meditate for 20 min. Luxury and mind centered time. Then I changed to my running outfit and headed out at 6am. Sun was just coming out and the air was chill and crispy.

After my run, almost near home, I stopped by a food vendor and got few things for the family to try. These stands seem to serve morning commuters, so they are typical breakfasts for the locals

7:10am, Lizzy was happy with the empanada with ham and cheese. she’s not a sweet breakfast person and prefers savory dishes

7:20am we headed out altogether, girls, me, and daddy to take us to school and office.

8am, I got to office building and ready to get back to strength training in this well equipped gym only for staff.

8:45am. showered, changed, and 5 min make up done, ready to start the day filled with energy.

I passed through our cantine to heat up pre-prepared oatmeal the night before

9am: breakfast time and write down my to do list, some of them from the apple note that I wrote down right after my run. Yes, often when I run with music (usually second half of my run) to-do list pops up to my mind.

9:20am-11:50pm, non stop meetings. I was supposed to have my portguese lesson at 12, so I quickly ate two plums. Then my teacher wrote me to ask to reschedule because her internet is done. I called my team who was heading for lunch to wait for me

we went to our usual lunch buffet place

my plate of colorful veggies and beans and farofa

1-6pm: work and portuguese lesson.

6pm, I called an uber and headed home. I got home 6:30pm, the family has finished dinner. I munched assorted things as “dinner”: cashew, chips, orange, papaya, and called it done.

7pm: I took Lizzy for 15 min “gymnastic” fun time in our community center. She is getting so strong.

7:20pm: change to PJ, clean my face, brush my teeth, getting ready for bed.

7:30pm: it was Lizzy’s turn to sleep in the couch. I spent 15 min chatting with her to hear about her day.

7:45pm: get to my bed where Sofia was waiting for me. Again, hear about her day, share my day, plan for Lizzy’s birthday.

8pm: Sofia left, I read 2 min before feeling exhausted.

Elements of the day that I like: meditation time, getting back to strength training excited, car ride with the girls and daddy, quiet breakfast time alone before the busy day start, an hour of quality time with the girls.

Things I would like to improve: finish my work day at 5pm so I can have dinner with the family, more breaks during the work day so I can catch up on household tasks, a bit more reading time would be ideal, end of the day catch up with daddy.

  1. This was so fun (and I think it’s hilarious I inspired you to track your day…the day I posted about my tracked day).

You are so busy and productive. I can’t believe you’ve run, brought home breakfast, and done a strength workout before many people would have gotten up for the morning!

  2. You are right, these “day in a life” posts are interesting. I love how you always manage to fit in fitness as well. It’s not easy with all your responsibilities but you are succeeding! Well done!

Do you sometimes review your 25 in 2025 list? Do you feel that you are on track?

  3. I love DITL posts! Everyone’s days are so different. You definitely do a LOT before getting to work in the morning- no wonder you’re exhausted at 8 pm. Yes, it would be nice to have dinner with your family, and a little more time to read- but you really fit a lot into your busy day.
