Favorites of our “new” house

Our house is almost organized. Husband did a great job putting away things so there are no more books and random things everywhere. I’ll spend the next few days to put them in ways that I like. Our house is looking more settled now. Next week our new sofa will be be delivered then we will be settled.

My new reading corner for morning non fiction reading. Books seem to find us at the right time, isn’t it? I’ve had this book for years and never felt the right moment to read it until now.

I have dozens of unread/forgotton books to go through, so happy about that! I’ve organized the bookshelf with books that I haven’t read, books that I want to grab anytime I want wisdom or comfort

And a bookshelf of reference book: recipe books, home decor, chinese medicine/health related books, and nonfiction

I love that Sofia has started to read my books. As she helped to organize my books, she picked this one and read it in one day. She said she had to search for many words but enjoyed it a lot and wants me to recommend more of my books to her. Woo! I wasn’t expecting that.

Girls did a great job organizing their rooms, and I enjoyed the grand tour they gave me. I am so glad that I don’t have to do it for them anymore. If anything, they are helping me.

I love ending the day with the girls reading Mafalda in castellans (Argentinian Spanish). So much laugh!

we also have a workout area and golf practice area, both mostly used by husband, will take pics once they are fully ready. We realized we have too many lamps, desk lamps, floor lamps! Oh well. We will probably give away few as we finalize everything.

More pics of our home to come! 🙂

What’s your favorite spot of your house? Where do you spend more time?

  1. It must feel so nice to be settled in with familiar things around you. A new space, yes, but it feels like home!

Also, I love, love, love the second bookcase. It’s so interesting and unique.

  2. I love your reading corner! I wish I had a designated reading area in my house- I just sit on my couch, or read in bed. One of these days I’ll figure out how to make a cozy corner for myself.

I’m glad you’re settling in and enjoying your new home!

  5. I’m glad you are getting settled in and the new space is feeling like home. It can take awhile to feel at home! I love your reading nook.

I really like our window seat area which has a storage cupboard underneath it. It’s such a smart use of space. Granted the window space ends up being a place where people drop their things so it doesn’t look great most of the time but I still really like it.
