It was a good month for reading. I had a good mix of books.
The rise of ultrarunning. I loved it! It describes well what I feel about running, why I run, what I am looking for, and why it keeps pulling back into the ground. It inspired me to sign up for my first trail race in Brazil.
Mr Salary. A short story a la Sally. What is with Irish writers? They are so talented.
Every summer after. I was hoping to start a read-all-the-books of an author project. While I enjoyed the book, I think it’s a good palate cleanser after heavy books, but not the type of books that leave me feeling/thinking after I finish it.
So late in the day. Small things like these. Both very nice stories that left me thinking days after I finish. Another Irish author. I’ll be reading everything she puts out.
Things we never say. My first Elizabeth’s book and I really like it. Although the theme is a bit sad, it is well written and the stories smartly developed. I will be reading her older books, any favorite?
Other highlights of the month:
- Swim competition in Brasilia
- Swim competition in Cuiaba with Lizzy
- Both girls had their MAP tests (standard tests for international schools) with mixed results
- A productive business trip to Sao Paulo
- Getting medical clearance ready for the summer camps
- Getting all house maintenance done
- Completed Jenny’s daily blog post challenge
June is already here! We are all super excited for the change of pace and environment, especially Sofia that will be away to experience campus life for 3 weeks.
