TGIF

This week is flying by and I am so glad it’s Friday. Girls don’t have class, I have few meetings, and some fun plans for the long weekend. Next Monday is independence day so no work no school, YAY!

We are technically still on dry season but we had rains more often and one of the mornings I saw this amazing rainbow.

Presidential election is aa month away and each day, we could chat over coffee room about the latest scandal. Fun? Sad? Overwhelm? All of above.

Sofia had a dentist appointment to fix two cavities and got the order of sugar detox for a month. She’s been with braces over a year, close to finish, and that has caused a lot of problems with her teeth. Sigh….

I made the most amazing penaut butter cookies on Tuesday, girls thought I bought them at store. I’ve been using cooking/baking as my transition from work to evening. Cooking is meditative for me.

I bought a big strawberries cream cake for a delayed birthday celebration of my team member. The cake disappeared so quick that I didn’t get a piece.

I got an invite to speak in a university in Shanghai. Although it’s unlikely I get to go, I was excited for few hours.

The two slimfit sessions this week have been harder than usual. It was nice to feel the pain together with other strong ladies. We all “agreed” that it’s the weather.

I also had more than usual health related chat with male colleagues, all having something to fix/worry. At mid-age, we exchange doctor recommendations more than restaurants.

Fun weekend plan:

• visit husband’s gym today with him. He gets 30 day guest pass for me. YAY!
• take cats for a bath.
• host a playdate for Sofia’s friend
• long run on Sunday, yes, that’s fun!!!
• make few new recipes for Sofia’s sugar detox, and husband low carb diet.
• enjoy our new filled pool. Due to dry season, we have to fill the pool 1-2 twice a year with a truck. It was filled this week and we need to enjoy it before it dries out again.
• finish my book. I didn’t get to read much during the week, so will power read this long weekend. this reminds me that I need to do book report soon.
