Weekend happening

This past weekend had no particular plan nor activity. Yet it felt busy. The good thing was the stay at home vibe weather, rainy, overcast, cold.

Saturday highlight was Lizzy playdate with a friend who she hasn’t played with for a while due to girls drama at school. They are back to be friends and the girl spent the whole afternoon at ours. We had a condominium organized kids day with play area, face painting, free popcorn and acai bowl. They had a blast

I took the advantage of open afternoon to get my nails done. I asked Sofia to join me so we had a spontaneous girls date. We got 2 hours of alone time and I learned few things that I didn’t know. It’s really quality time when we go out alone without an agenda but to chill and connect.

I tried a new vegan recipe, mashed potatoes with green peas and mushroom stroganoff. It was yummy but I still prefer pumpkin and sweet potato over potato.

Sunday highlight was the weather through which I did my long run. It was gloomy but I loved it. It made the long effortless

I also made an old favorite eat out dish of Sofia back in Jakarta, called pepper lunch. I recreated it and the family loved it.

Lizzy and I spent most the day studying for her upcoming test and only took a break to visit a colleague who just got a puppy. It was nice to meet be dog version of Bubble, funny, lazy, and super cute

Sunday was also national Election Day, with surprising outcome, still for the country to digest.

Monday started at 7:45am for me at the office. The weather continued to be gloomy, raining season has officially arrived.

This is the third country and third national election we are living through. It’s a good topic to discuss with the girls. Sofia loves all social topics, while Lizzy is just curious about what’s happening. I enjoy discussing these to-me work related topics with them and compare with what we knew and experienced before. it’s such a privilege to realize there’s more than one way of anything.
