It was Indonesia independence day. I slept very well, dressed up pink for my 7 miles easy run.

I tried a new pair of running shoes, got some hip soreness. Not really really sure if they are related. Then the girls went to the building’s special celebration for a while when I changed, had food, and started my day for the second time. We went to the groceries store, then I made super muffins (testing out new recipes to fuel Sofia for her long swimming practices), lemon cake, and made lunch.

after some rest, the girls had chess lessons. It was Lizzy’s first time, and the coach said she’s very talented. hahahaha…. I don’t know where he derived that, but nice to hear it.

Sofia and I went to the gym for a full body session, the first time that she worked out with me. We did a lot of core work, and she was exhausted. I think strength work (upper body and core) will help with her swimming. Meanwhile, Lizzy played with her friend rollerblading around the gym.

I ended the day super tired for no reason, not that I did a lot, but felt more tiring than working days. Our kitchen sink looks like a battlefield as we left all the dinner plates for the helper tomorrow.
I am trying to enjoy our family time before the crazy swimming practice starts in September. There will be a lot more time on the road. Just like the mom of Lizzy’s chess mates said: I feel like my youth was wasted in the traffic, by living in Jakarta.
I find days at home with my kids more exhausting than days at work! But mine are so much younger than yours and we are in a physically demanding stage of parenting!
I hope the hip PT helps! Tough to worry about hip pain with your fall marathon!
