- While I love running, I also enjoy fully my non-running days because I get to see girls’ morning faces. Lizzy digging into her breakfast: homemade waffles and yogurt

I love seeing Cookie accompanying the girls for their breakfast. So cute.

2. I hosted a farewell dinner for a departing colleague. The theme of the dinner was Indonesia food after they break the fast. To keep something save for me and the girls, we prepared some usual dishes as most of the Indonesia dishes are SUPER spicy.

3. I crushed my last speed workout! Tapering has started! To refuel after grueling 14 miles of run, I enjoyed every bite of my oatmeal with almond butter and blueberries chia jam.

3. I had a mini crisis this week as our helper told me she is planning to go home (province) while we go to Paris. That means nobody will come to feed/check Cookie! I understand that this is her only time of the year that unites with the family, so I can’t tell her not to go. During the fasting month, most of the helpers go home so even finding temporary helper will be difficult. Alternative? Pet hotel? I looked some places and it stressed me out thinking that Cookie has to be placed there. It’s like sending your kids to a prison, it breaks my heart. So I was at this panic/worry state for like 12 hrs. Then during my speed workout run, I thought about someone who we can ask. Excited with my brilliant idea, I asked the person, and he agreed to ask his helper to come and feed Cookie. WHAT A RELIEF!!!

4. This is the Indonesia week at school. Both girls perform local dance and music. I got to see them performance and loved it.

5. Our Paris plan is almost ready! I booked the Eiffel Tower stairs ticket for me and the girls, as daddy is not interested in climbing the stairs. I am soooo excited! For my marathon, for the Disney, for taking the family to Paris (first time for daddy). I feel physically and mentally prepared for my race, very hopeful for a good experience this time.
Leaving pets is so stressful! It’s so important to find someone you trust, or a place that is nice that they can go to. I totally understand!

I am sure you are so excited about Paris! I have climbed the Eiffel tower twice, but many people take the elevator! Your husband could do that. Or maybe he is going to just enjoy his alone time while you sightsee. My favorite thing to do in Paris is to just walk around; there are so many fun things to see. The second favorite is to just sit and have a coffee, but that is not really very fun for the kids. They may like the Pere Lachaise (cemetery) or the catacombs, plus for both of these, you can sneak in some learning (and you can try to find Jim Morrison’s grave!)

I miss the days of watching my daughters performances, I hope they had a lot of fun!
Cookie has such beautiful eyes in her closeup! It’s SO stressful leaving pets behind, I am always sure something terrible will happen while I’m gone, and it never has. They are always fine.
I’m so excited for your trip! I think I missed that you will be running a marathon in Paris! WOW! Your trip is coming fast, and I’ll bet you are going to have a great time. Will you go to the chocolate museum? I haven’t been, but I’ve heard it’s fun for the kids.
