Thoughts on a Saturday morning – procrastinating

It’s 5:30am and I should be running, only problem is that AQI is 169. It has been weeks since we had bad air and there’s no way I’m heading out. So the solution? TM. Fortunately I caught with a good series to watch, monsters!

I had a great work from home Friday from 9-3pm before I went to pick up Lizzy from her lego lead class and take her to swim training, all while on a work call. I love how flexile my work meeting is, everyone understands and don’t expect you to show up in person anymore on a Friday.

Sofia’s birthday party is coming up, all organized by herself. First she invited only the closest girlfriends from her old school, then she expanded to new friends, now it will be a group of 7 girls, plus Lizzy and her bestie. The plan is to spend 3 hours at the waterpark, come home, have ice cream cake, and then playroom and movie. I bought the requested junk food for the “party”: Pringles and fruits. I’ll order McDonals when in the water park. It’s funny that all those girls find junk food as treat for birthday parties. HA

My mom is arriving on Monday, she probably doesn’t know how excited I am because I often forget to call her. But I think about her and look forward to have her with us.

I’ve been sleeping so soundly since the flight situation got resolved. We have one more pending stressful situation, hopefully also gets resolved next week.

I am getting facial today. Girls will spend the day most doing homework so she has a full play day tomorrow. It’s fascinating to see them being responsible, for a change, maybe is the age? they are getting the point finally?

Okay… gotta get to the TM for an easy run before to tomorrow’s long run, final long run workout before the Perth half marathon.

  1. It was the right decision to get on the treadmill with this AQ. I am sorry you’re dealing with this but I am glad you have indoor options.

I am excited that you are going to see your mom so soon.

  2. YAY to a visit from your mom! Wonderful.

I hope your daughter’s party is great, and that she has a lot of fun. 9 kids sounds like a good size party.

I’m glad you didn’t go out in the terrible air quality. That stuff is no joke. I’ll be you’re excited about the Perth race!

  3. I’m one of the world’s best procrastinators, especially when there are no deadlines, like today. I would have LIKED to be out on my long run at 8am. By the time I was out it was 10am.
Do you have a special filter for your air indoors? And what exactly causes the bad air quality? Factory and car emissions combined with certain weather?

  4. Oof. That is bad air quality. I hope the run on the TM went ok. I hate running on it so much so I do not run during our snowy season and instead focus on strength training and other cardio usually. Hopefully by winter my flare will be better and I can get back to strength training (my hand is still not doing well so I can’t grasp things/so hand intensive moves like push-ups, etc).

  5. I hope you were able to get outside for you long run. I don’t mind the treadmill, but the longest run I’ve ever done on one was 18 miles and it was HARD.

Sofia’s party sounds like it will be fun! Yes, I’m sure the girls will love Pringles and McDonalds. It’s a party, they should have treats!

I’m excited for you that your mom will be there- that will be so nice for you.
