Monday was …. Monday. I couldn’t focus on work nor on life tasks. Some days are just like that I guess.
Listening during my 5 miles run: Ina’s memoire (finished it).
Reading: started meditation for mortals
Stomach update: not great. I didn’t have pain during the run in the morning but it did come back after dinner. Did hot compress and it felt better.

I like the dishes that the girls like! I could eat any of that any day! One thing I make a lot when I am on dinner duty with my friend’s girls (10 and 14) is salmon, miso soup and rice, or tofu stir fry with rice (and lots of veggies). I am trying to teach them some easy things so that they can make dinner next time and they are getting really good at those things. We also always love breakfast (usually omelet/egg scramble+potatoes) for dinner.

Your daughter’s have a healthy taste! They are fortunate to grow up in a wholesome environment.
I admire that you can stick to a training plan for long periods. I have a marathon in April too, but I will only start training in January. Right now, I’m just free-wheeling. If I train rigorously more than four months, I get burned out.

Hahaha.. I need the running for my mental therapy. So I don’t mind.

Interesting to see what they like! I think my kids would agree with much of the list, minus a couple specific things that they wouldn’t touch! haha. (egg salad, the rice cakes with chicken and cabbage and not sure about the pork belly.)

My youngest is a pretty good eater but my older is very selective and it kind of stresses me out. I wonder if we should see an OT but his doctor isn’t concerned so we try not to worry. He doesn’t eat many vegetables unfortunately. The younger is a much better eater so it just goes to show that you can only impact so much of your child’s preferences!
I hope this period of stress comes to an end soon!!

Wow, your kids have a varied diet! I wish my daughter ate that much. Plus…. homemade sushi? my daughter would eat homemade sushi, but I’m not willing to make it, ha ha.

Always fun to have a post like this, where people can compare tastes. I think my daughter would have eaten any of these dishes, she wasn’t too picky. Now she’s vegetarian, so no chicken or pork belly for her. Last night we had tomato soup and grilled cheese, delicious.

I would eat the whole list except not huge pork belly fan. (Bacon yes, pork belly no. Haha.)

It’s so interesting how kids are different when it comes to food. I used to think it depends on what they’re exposed to when they grow up, but my sister and I – even though we were exposed to the same foods – have very different palates!
