Surprising changes

I am surprised that

  • I can get used to wake up past 6am. Now that I go to bed 10 or 11pm due to evening meetings, I naturally wake up past 6am. I have been waking up between 4 and 4:30am for years. I thought I would never change this rhythm.
  • I don’t get hungry after 4 hrs into waking up. My previous breakfast schedule is between 8 and 9am. Now I don’t have breakfast before 10am. Just realizing that I need 4 hrs to work up appetite in the morning. Because of that, I have lunch at 2pm, no need to snack before dinner time. My snack time has shifted to 8 or 9pm.
  • I can find calm in long yoga session. I did this 65 min yoga today and felt wonderful. I used to rush into finish, but today, somehow, magically, I was enjoying every moment and didn’t want it to end. I even wanted to go to her yoga retreat. Nicole came to mine many times during this practice. I hope to do yoga with her one day 🙂
  • There’s one day that Sofia would ask to join me at the gym. The day is today. She found her own swimming related gym workout and asked to come with me.
  • I would run without a watch. I wasn’t planning to run today as I wasn’t feeling my best and skipped my long run. But after the yoga, I felt jogging for a bit, mostly because I wanted to finish watching this documentary. I didn’t bring my watch, so this run was not recorded and I was totally fine with that.
  • I would be willing to book a trip for a concert with the girls. I am probably as excited as they are. I have put an alarm for Feb 27 to buy the tickets for BlackPink World tour. YAY!

  1. Wow, running without a watch and actually being fine with it? That’s some next-level chill—I love it! Definitely something I’m aspiring to.
And thanks for the documentary tip! It sounds like the kind of thing that’ll have me reaching for my running shoes, too.

  2. I’m glad the rhythms of your sleep are adjusting to this new temporary schedule while you’re working in a different time zone while living in Indonesia! It’ll be really hard to maintain those early wake ups when you have to work so late into the day and sometimes during the night! Running without a watch would be so hard for me to do! Which is kind of silly because I’m not training for anything and yet I always want to have credit for activity.
