We oved into our new house on April 1, the same day we got TV room sofa, 3 mattresses, washer, fridge, camping table and chairs from colleagues and boxes from my office. The internet was installed the next day as well as the TV. The family is almost over with jet lag, and the girls are enjoying new school so far.
We don’t have help yet as the maid who was supposed to come on Wednesday got lost and went home. Husband and grandma are stepping up to do some cleaning and cooking.
Every day we notice things missing so husband has been getting things like drying rack, dish soap, lighter for the stove, etc. It’s a good experience to re-start life and know what are the essentials.
Having the family settling down well gives me space to focus on work. I had two productive days at work and coming home to see the family at the end, which is essential to know the why.
I did my first run around the new neighborhood. It’s not as nice as around the park but good enough for daily run. I can always go to the park on weekends for longer runs.
I still need to organize the closet, and girls’ cloth, so I’m staying home today to finish that.
There are other things to do around the house but the essentials are done and we can LIVE and ENJOY it already. Every one is super happy with the house, including the cat 🙂

Friday I plan to finish organizing few things at home, and maybe watch something on the new couch! 🙂
Yay! I’m so glad things are getting all sorted (of course there were always going to be little things here and there you needed) and it looks like a bright, inviting space.
I’m sure it feels good to start establishing a “home route” for your runs.

So glad to hear everyone is getting things settled! Moving is SUCH a pain, I cannot imagine moving continents! But you’re right, it is a fresh start and you figure out the essentials.

I am glad you are all settling in and recovering from jet lag. It is probably kind of fun to live in a single family dwelling after being in a condo for the last several years!!

Ooh! You new home looks so clean and spacious. Moving is so, so hard and stressful- glad you’re settling in so well. Good for the girls for being so flexible! And your cat, of course. Cats usually hate change, but it sounds like everyone is doing well.

What a relief to have the basic furniture and be over the worst of the jet lag. You have handled an international move very well. There are so many things that need to be done.

I was thinking about you this past week! Happy to see dust is settling in and everyone is happy with the house, but most importantly, the cat. How was her journey to Brazil?? She made it okay but was she thirsty/hungry? Sending hugs to you all!
