This is the phrase from my husband when I told him about a shocking news from work. I won’t go into details but it’s related to job security. I rationally believe that my job is secure 99%, yet emotionally that 1% has overtaken my mental space on Friday.
We can deal with good news and bad news, but we are bad is dealing with uncertainty. We know what we are heading and by when, we just don’t know how the process would be and if we come out unharmed.
We tend to jump into action, shooting to the dark to feel the elusive in control of the situation. No, I’ll hold on to that thought and remind myself my husband’s wisdom.
We finished unpacking and found old memories
The cast Sofia used when she had leg fracture, when she was 18 months old

the baby carrier, Lizzy at 6 months old (Virginia at apple picking farm)

vs. 9 years old (Brasilia)

and I found the reason I was so in love with the name Sofia. This is my teens book!!!

No matter what happens, I’ll enjoy this weekend and the one to come, and the next one, with my loved ones.
“Let the bullet fly a bit longer” – I love that. It’s so hard to sit with uncertainty, especially when that 1% claws at your mind. I’ve been there too, and your husband’s calm wisdom is exactly what we all need to hear sometimes.
Unpacking those old memories sounds like the perfect way to remind yourself what really matters. Sofia’s cast and those baby moments are priceless anchors in the chaos.
Wishing you peace this weekend and lots of good moments with your loved ones. Hold tight!

I’m so sorry to hear about work stress. It’s tough because it is so out of your control. I am glad you feel fairly secure in your role, though.
The flashback photos are so so cute, though!!

Isn’t it interesting how the 1% possibility becomes so much larger than 1%? I would be exactly the same way. Very stressful for you, I’m sure.
I love that saying “let the bullet fly a little longer.” Because of course this is out of your control, and it doesn’t help to worry about something that hasn’t happened and probably won’t. Still, I totally understand your stress!

The 1% is still sooo stressful, but wise advice.
Loved seeing the pictures of the kiddos when they were younger!

I’ve ever heard that phrase but I like it- your husband is wise. I hope you’re managing to enjoy the weekend with your family, and know that whatever happens, you will all be okay.

I like what you said about being able to handle good news and bad news, and yeah, uncertainty is the worst. Last year we had a couple of bad quarters at my company and they did a bunch of layoffs and it was really stressful because we had no idea what was going to happen and when. Everyone was really on edge. I’m sorry you’re in the middle of that. Even if your job is safe, you don’t know about your work friends, and that is really hard.
