Fun weekend: Bubble, cooking, movie

I had a really good weekend! So many joyful and loving moments. Highlights included a lot of playing time with Bubble. Lizzy hold her to get to know the house, hiding from Cookie, introducing her litter box and new food.

Bubble tried to hide anywhere possible. She’s fluffy but small so she can fit into many unthinkable places.

we looked for her everywhere

when we catch her, she can stay in one place for a long time

I did a lot of meal prep as we’ve taken the decision of NOT to hire a full time help. We will just have the lady that comes twice a week to clean the house. Many reasons to reach to this last minute change of decision: salary demand (50% more than we thought), we really like how the current lady cleans the house, we like not having to casual talk with the employee. The lady who was coming to work for us tends to share personal/family things to others which I don’t think it’s a good idea, her strength is cooking which is the least we need. Of course, this means 5 out of 7 days the house will be untidy, I’ll have to make dinner after work, do laundry, and a lot more things that a full time helper would do. But I think this change could be a good shift for us, for the girls to help out more, and I can enjoy the empty house for myself when I work from home. It was a family decision and we are all pretty happy about it.

by Sunday, Bubble also felt more secure and does not hide all the time. She sit through Lizzy’s piano practice.

by Sunday dinner time, every one in the family was around the table, BIG progress because until day, Cookie could not be around Bubble without wanting to attack her. They are still not besties, but progress has been made.

Bubble was comfortable enough to nap at the dining table

Cookie was not so happy about having another cat for sure, and Sofia has been spending more time with her to comfort her.

Husband and I had 5 hours solo time on Saturday as girls went to a playdate. After groceries shopping, make and have lunch together, we watched the new movie, my year in Oxford. It was super nice to just hang out alone. When we finished, we had one hour left, we decided just stay in the couch and do nothing…. it felt luxurious.

Also, I am back to running!!! I ran both Saturday and Sunday after completing the 7 days of no physical activity as part of post op. I missed it so much. I didn’t run much as I wanted to gradually get back to it given knee is not 100% healed and my dentist said no exertion. But the fact that I could run was big enough to celebrate!!! And finally, a home massage to end the weekend. 🙂

Hope you had a good weekend too. What was the last movie you watched? Did you like it?

  1. Ha ha… Cookie does look irritated! They really don’t like new cats, but I think it helps that Bubble is so small- maybe less intimidating that way. Anyway- Bubble i so, so cute, like a little fluffy stuffed animal. I would be wanting to cuddle with her all day.

Nice that you and your husband had a “date!” And… yay for running. The time off was probably good for your knee.

  2. Awww, Cookie! I hope the two of them become friends soon. Bubble is SO cute!

Sounds like you made a good decision, regarding the helper. And if it seems like too much, you can always revisit the question.

    Glad you’re feeling better Coco!

  3. I thought I commented on this, but I guess I read it in my email. Bubble is SO CUTE, I hope that she and Cookie get along soon! I know it can take a while for cats. We had a cat once that was so territorial, she didn’t accept another cat that we got until we moved. I guess she felt like it was neutral territory. Other times we were able to bring a new cat into the home with no issues.
