September highlights and favorites

this pic came up in my memory and I can vividly remember that day at daycare when Sofia turned 1. Look at those cheeks!

A lot happened in September which made it feel long and full in a good way.

Highlights:

  • Spontaneous trip to Pirenópolis with surprise and scary detour and delighted colonial town
  • Sofia turned 13 and we had a surprisingly chill and relaxed birthday party at home.
  • Sofia first swim competition with her local team, where I got future nostalgia.
  • We started with a new helper and she seems capable of cleaning the house and make dinner.
  • We went to Kerry Perry concert and loved it. We have her on Spotify on repeat weeks after the concert.
  • Sofia attended her first MUN conference and loved it.
  • I successfully made sourdough and kimchi.

We had some stressful moments:

  • Cats fight. The situation got progressively worst and we don’t know if it will ever get resolved.
  • Work stress has piled up but I am getting support from the team and work friends.
  • My knee discomfort came back, not as bad as July but its recurrence affected me mentally.

Books read, all from one author. My favorite is Audition.

Movie watched

  • K-pop monster

Miles run: 125 miles.

October is new beginning. I am a bit slow in setting up goals because I know it will be a busy month. But goals/intentions I’ll have 🙂

  1. Sounds like a busy and fun month! Did I miss your Katy Perry recap? I remember you saying you had that coming up but then don’t think I saw a post about it! I’m sure that was super fun!

  2. 125 miles while juggling work stress and dealing with knee discomfort is really impressive! I know injuries can take a mental toll too, but I try to see them as a hidden blessing, every break gives the body a chance to recover, so you can come back stronger and keep running for even longer.

  3. A month that feels “long and full” is a great thing! I know it wasn’t all good- but you did have a lot of good things happen.

I love the 1 year old Sofia photo! And…. wow I hope you can get that cat situation figured out. I know, it’s very stressful!

  4. That picture is so sweet. Wow the years fly by.

I really liked this reflection of highs/lows from the week. Such a smart idea and a nice way to capture the ups and downs of everyday life.

The cat situation sounds so stressful. But I hope having a helper will relieve some of the home maintenance/cooking stress!

  5. ohhhh how cute she is!!!!!! Checks for weeks!!!

September was a busy month but also a good month. I felt like we got back to basics, after a chaotic summer (my dad’s stroke, Russia trip, France trip, kitchen renovation). So September bought some strange… relief?..

I hope your work stress eases up a bit- you mentioned your boss is a micromanager, I hope that improves, too.
