Last week workout & unexpected departure of Nair

It’s always when things are falling to their place, when all seem to be working, something happens. Nothing bad nor irreparable, but annoying for sure.

came home from work after a good productive day, to find Nair (the lady that started working with us two months ago) telling me that this is her last week she works for us. My first reaction was that is it because we leave the house in “bad” condition for when she comes for work. So I asked her gently what’s the reason, whether it’s too much work or whether we are not nice people. Then she said it’s personal reason and started crying. She moved to Brasilia in May from São Paulo as she got married. it seems that her husband is not treating her well, violent. Sigh….

Need to find a new person, meanwhile find day workers until then.

Sigh…..

Last week workout:

Mon: 45 min full body strength

Tu: 7 miles feeling weak (tired, stomach pain), 1 hr in person yoga. Day 1 of HRT

Wed: 5.6 miles with some tempo miles. 45 min lower body. Tiredness continued with additional mild headache

Thur: 4.5 miles easy, 10 min yoga. I was tired and sleepy in the AM but felt better afternoon onward.

Fri: 50 min yoga. I was sleepy and mild headache until 10am.

Sat: 12 miles feeling good energy.

Sun: 9 miles (7 miles solo and 2 miles with Sofia). Energy back to baseline.

I felt the first half of the week was PMS symptoms that went away over the weekend.

  1. Shame about Nair, but it’s best for her to leave him immediately. Can you help her in any way?

Great job on your workouts, Coco! Nice balance of cardio, strength and mobility. Remind me – do you do your strength workouts with the help of videos? Or do you have a coach?

    1. I offered her to stay with us until she leaves. Not sure what else I can do. Domestic violence seems common here unfortunately.
I’m following Natasha ocean strength program for runners.

  2. Oh, that’s such a bummer for you, and that poor woman!!! I’m glad she’s leaving but it sure makes things more difficult for you. I hope she’s okay.

Nice job on the workouts- glad you ended the week feeling good!

  3. I haven’t read many of your past blog posts, Ms. Coco Qian, but I think your workout last week went just as you planned.

I assume that you’ll write about the updates about Nair in your blog posts in the future, Ms. Coco Qian, but, that’s up to you.
