I had a great star of the week feeling recheies and excited.
- Back into running felt so good! I did 7 miles and loved every mile. I also did 60 min lifting with a new plan and found it fast paced and nice.
- Nair told me she’s staying as she had a long chat with her husband over the weekend. She thanked me for the marriage advice. I am glad she decided to give it more time and work. I realized that there was no physical violence, but verbal ones. So I’m less concerned. She works well and is a nice person. I hope she can stay with us.
- I had a work call with a grad school classmate and he called me Coco which is my nickname among friends. I found it amusing and so familiar talking to him although we rarely talked over the years. I came to realize that working with friends from another era is a privilege as we met each other during “innocent years”, before family before kids before we knew what we were going to do in life. I am privileged to have three classmates in the same work place.
- I am excited to be hosting a lunch this weekend, Chinese! I haven’t hosted for a long time and was surprised that I found it exciting. I spent some night after dinner while Lizzy piano to plan the menu.
- Lizzy is so cute and loves giving me hugs and kisses just because and I happily receive them every time with open arms and as this is the last kiss/hug I get.
That’s so difficult for your helper; verbal abuse can be absolutely horrific and I hope she gets the help she needs. My heart aches for her. I have some friends that have been in verbally abusive, controlling marriages and it is truly awful 😦
Glad the running went well. You must be so happy!

I hope your helper’s husband gets his act in gear. Verbal abuse would be hard to handle… 😦
I am glad you have some good things to look forward to, like hosting colleagues! This is a very full week for me but it’s mostly fun things so I am trying to keep that in mind when I feel stressed.

Savor those hugs and kisses!!! They won’t be the last ones, but at some point they’ll get less frequent.
I’m glad Nair is staying- I hope things can be worked out with her husband??? At least it’s not physical abuse, but still, the situation doesn’t sound good.

You are the 2nd Coco in our group. Welcome.
I love that you enjoyed “every mile.”
That rarely happens to me but always glad when I’m DONE.

A 7-mile run plus a fresh strength plan is a solid combo to start the week!
I’m relieved to hear things with Nair settled a bit. Verbal conflict is still tough, but if there’s no physical violence and she’s choosing to work on it, that’s a different situation. At least she has you and she trusts you, that must be very comforting for her.
Lizzy’s spontaneous hugs are sweet!

I thought Coco was your actual name, not a nickname! Well, now I think it’s lovely that I am a friend that can call you that.
I’m glad Nair is okay, may she continue to be safe. xo

I’m new to your blog, and now i’m going to have to get some more backstory on your colleague. I hope she is safe and that things improve for her. Abusive relationships are awful.
