Eventful week

It was a busy week. I am writing this post from Recife, an hour away from going to the airport. Quick recap of highlights

Monday: Sofia brought all the 10 boxes of homemade cookies to school for her teachers. She did them all by herself and her friend, including the tag and wrapping.

Tuesday I had an important meeting at work about a project that I’ve been preparing since April. It was stressful days/weeks leading up to the review meeting because of new internal policies. It went well and we got praises.

Wednesday was daddy’s birthday. I had no time to plan anything fancy. Managed to make a pancake “cake”, got candle during my morning run, Lizzy made a card and a poster, Sofia made pistachio filled chocolate. It was definitely a low key celebration but daddy was happy.

I spent the morning at home working, packed up, went to school to see Lizzy’s performance, and went to catch a flight to Recife in the afternoon. We got to the hotel 10pm due to delay.

Thursday I woke up 5am with the sun full up and found this view from my room.

we had two meetings and ended up having 1-1 with our big boss in Brazil which was super nice. We got to know our family, our history, and enjoyed a nice Portuguese dinner. As she said it, the most fascinating part of our job is the people we meet, the cultural diversity and richness of personal stories, and these personal connection moments during work trips. She’s absolutely right. I like her curiosity and openness despite how experienced she is.

Ready to go home to hug my “babies”, attend a final swim meet up, run a fun 5k race, and will be on the road for a final work trip of 2025!

  1. That was a full week, Coco!
I love that your Big Boss still has that level of curiosity, it keeps people sharp, young, and actually interesting.
And enjoy that 5K this weekend! Sounds like exactly the kind of fun effort you need right now.
