Inhaled it!

This past weekend was low key but many highlights! Mostly because I was soooo into Nicole’s book. I started Saturday evening and inhaled it during all free time which was plenty and finished it this morning 6:30am. What a ride! I love it and feel so lucky to “know” the author! Woooo!!!

Other highlights of our weekend included:

Sofia did the test for her summer program, finally. what a relief for her. She said this was the most neurotic exam she’s given to date. Whatever the outcome I’m so proud of her putting the work and tried her best.

Saturday I had my long run, then biked to farmers market before settling at home to do some planning. Bubble was my company. It was “hard” to convince her to let me sit.

The soy yogurt turned out great!!! Not as creamy as store bought but this is legit and only one ingredient, soy bean.

Saturday evening I started Nicole’s book. Woo! Love the cover while had my before bed snack, chia pudding with pumpkin and protein powder.

Sunday was supposed to be 45 min easy run. I felt super strong and ended up running 8 miles in this mystic morning

Then I did stretching, called my mom, went to get groceries with husband and spent few hours in the kitchen meal prepping for the week. I made pancakes, baked sweet potato, made ingredients for burrito bowl, both carnitas and chicken.

And made these vegetables dishes for me. The Okara dish was super, another reason to make more soy yogurt

Girls loved lunch! Bubble as well 🙂

I spent few more hours in bed after lunch napping and reading. Then around 4pm I decided to watch the rip. It was good, very manly. Before bed, I read a bit more.

I woke up this morning 4am and decided to stay in bed to continue Nicole’s book. Got up at 5am, did my usual morning routine. After packing kids lunch i went back to her book, finishing the last 5%. Wooo! What a plot! So many twist and turns. I absolutely love it! What surprised me the most is that the theme of middle age single mother, yoga teacher, divorced life, dating again, managing teenager, they are not topics that I relate that much, yet the book so so engaging and gripping! I also love that I can see Nicole in the book, even her name was dropped once. What a perfect book in so many ways!

What was the last fiction that you read it almost in a seating?

  1. I can’t wait to read Nicole’s book! I read mostly Kindle, but when I know the author my policy is to always buy a physical copy. I’m waiting with baited breath for it to come into the bookstore!

  2. I can’t wait to read this! Like Birchie, I also ordered a physical copy for the same reason. But for you, it 100% makes sense to read the ebook since it would take ages for you to order it, I imagine, and it would probably be quite expensive? I can’t wait to dig into it. I adore Nicole’s writing on her blog so can’t wait to read an entire book written by her!

  3. Love the play on words of your post title with Nicole’s book! Ah, that’s a sweet paragraph about her blog readers at the end. I’m glad you liked it, now I have something to look forward to.

Your misty morning looks very much like our foggy weather in Cape Town this morning. I also had 45 minutes but only added 10 minutes more. Does your training program adapt if you go longer than planned? I get random rest days as soon as I extend my runs.

    1. Hi Catrina. I don’t get change on training plan. So it’s not smart. You use garmin coach right? The paid version? Or the one that you set up?

      1. Yes, I’m using Garmin’s plan, the free one that is available in the app. I entered the London Marathon with a target pace and all the races I’m doing before that. So far, it’s doing a great job. Because it has all the stats (sleep quality, stress, etc), it adapts the plan accordingly.

  4. Oh my goodness Nicole’s book is so fantastic. And how fun is it to know the author?! It adds such a fun extra element to reading it! Let’s see, the last book I read in one go was Discipline by Larissa Pham. I’m still digesting it but it was super compelling.

  5. Oh wow- I cannot wait to read her book! It sounds really really good. That’s so sweet that she called out all her loyal blog readers like that.

Sounds like a great weekend. I’m impressed by your meal prep. Glad the yogurt came out well!
