3 days of intense catch up

I’m writing at the lounge in São Paulo, waiting for my next flight back home. The past 3 days were intense talking with my BFF, her husband, her mom, her dad, and spending meals and walks with her family. We took a lot of pics, and this one captures my feeling. I’m thrilled and laughed a lot, from my heart.

I’m very glad I came alone because I got to focus on my friend and her family fully. I didn’t need to rush back to take care of my own, thanks to my supporting husband who even made freshly grilled burger for the girls.

It was also a great update visually of each other, and our thoughts and directions. Some things were surprising to me, probably also for her, but since forever, our friendship is based on care and respect, even if we don’t agree, we genuinely support each other.

It was also the first time I met her dad since 2012, I’m glad to see him well and still very funny.

I algo got to visit her childhood home, where we spent hours studying and chatting.

It’s surreal to re vive those moments while her two boys are in the same house. How come that we grew up so quickly? If not, also aging so quickly? It’s nice to have a forever friend to grow and age together.

We went to a cat cafe, and agreed that could be our retirement projects as we both love cats. The husbands could have a bar besides the cafe because BBQ place would be too much work, despite their shared love of meat.

Here’s my favorite one from the cafe

And we need to have a 3D print for our coffee

I went to a vegan cafe for lunch one day after some shopping. It’s a super cute place and the quote is nice: born to save animals

My flight was 3am, so we stayed up talking until 12:30am. I barely slept on flight, so probably the rest of Sunday once I get home would be to chill, and continue to absorb and reflect our conversations.

When will we see each other again? Surely less than 3 years. At least every time she visits Buenos Aires, I’ll try to come. Friendship has never been my center of gravity, but I get older, I get to appreciate it more, and committed to nurture the few ones I have. They are precious.

  1. I am glad you had such a wonderful trip with your childhood friend. I hope 3 years don’t go by without seeing each other but if they do, you always know you will pick up where you left off!

Good luck with your re-entry into life at home!
