How was Monday?

Usually at bed time Lizzy would ask me how was my day. Usually Mondays evening I’d say: as good as a Monday could be (aka, not great but I expected it not great). But this Monday, I said great! How many meetings did you have? 7.

What made it great? Let’s unpack:

  1. I woke up well rested, fully recovered from Sunday’s 4 hrs+ activities. SLEEP really is the best recovery tool.
  2. Bubble came to make me company when I came down to my office. She loves to sleep on the edge of the table.

From time to time she’d look at me, with love!

3. I went to 6am session (make up for sessions that I missed while traveling). The studio was ready to receive me, even with fresh coffee and cookies.

It was a small group, only 3 ladies, which made all the transitions faster. I packed 4 circuits in 1 hr. Feeling great!

because I worked out on a Monday (my usual rest day), my mood was uplift already by 7am! I immediately booked next two Mondays.

5. I have a spontaneous lunch with two fellow Argentinian male colleagues, laughing out a lot despite internal changes that don’t make any sense

6. I had Lizzy in my office for 1.5 hrs, between her school ending and swimming training as she’s moving to the next level and has a later start. I also had a talk with her after getting feedback from her coach.

7. I got home 6pm, later than usual but witness the sunset during my uber ride home. The sky is pink again with beautiful clouds.

8. Girls had a shorter session so got home before 7pm. I sit with them as they had dinner and tells me about their day.

9. Husband gave me an after-shave face kiss before I drifted to sleep.

10. Took me 2 min to fall asleep. πŸ™‚

Q: How was your Monday? How do you mentally prepare for a new week?

  1. I like how it’s often the basics that keep us on track: solid sleep, early movement, a few human moments in between.

That 6am session really makes a difference, right? I always say once you’ve done your exercise, nobody can take that great feeling away from you for the rest of the day.

  2. This sounds like a great day! And I like the idea of going back to analyze it- WHY was it great, what went right, etc. Even if you can’t always replicate it, it’s still fun to look back on a nearly perfect day.
