Parade before the start of the competition.
Lizzy first event where she improved her Pb but finished last. It’s amazing how much placement matters more than the time. She was not happy with the result despite improvement and being placed in the fastest heat.

The funny thing was I mistakenly recorded another girl’s swim as the girl looked identical to her. Other parents also thought it was her but it wasn’t. Ha!
Finally, an amazing and fun run in the near part, with hills and forecast.
I love exploring new running route but it’s not obvious I can find one in a country where safety is a concern for many. So I’m extra grateful when I can run outside when traveling in Brazil.
Tomorrow she has 3 individual events and relay.
Swim competition is tiring! Waiting time is so long. But we will keep the spirit up and enjoy the last day.
It’s great that Lizzy was in the fastest heat but it’s hard to not place high. She should be proud of her PB though!!

I agree, being last in the fastest heat is something to be proud of, especially as she now has a new PB. Great job Lizzy! Still no fun to come in last. My daughter started swim team at the point when they were doing 100 meters, and she was 15 or 16. All of the other kids had been on swim team for 5 – 8 years. She often came in last, and had to consider a personal best as a big accomplishment, which it was. I was proud of her for her hard work and sticking it out, even though she was not the fastest by a long shot.
