Rare slow Monday

I didn’t run today. I spent the morning getting myself busy around the house when girls were having breakfast. Glutinous rice with aduki bean for Sofia and burrito for Lizzy. I rarely get to do this because most of days I’ll be running outside.

After packing their lunches, leftover/freezer food, and tons of snack as they have swimming, I planned my day.

7:20-8:40am: luxious one hour vinyasa yoga. I realized how much I enjoy this when I know this will be long and nice. I didn’t check the phone nor looked at the clock, but really stay tuned to my body and cues. I should do this more often! It’s only when I do yoga for more than 30 min, it stops being an workout but a mental rejuvenation.

As I got ready for the day, I tuned in this mini desk concert. My girls have been playing piano for 8+ years and I find it soothing. Instead of listening to podcast while getting ready, I started to listen to piano and this mini concert is really peaceful.

While I ate my big bowl of oatmeal, I watched 1/2 of this episode. I’ve been following this girl for a while. I watched every single episodes of her channel. Her videos are very soothing, her meals creative. I got to sneak peak a college girl’s life in Germany, her growth, her simple and centered life. It reminds me of my grad student life. She’s vegan, runner, lives solo, loves cooking, and reads. I think she studies economics too.

I had a productive day at work. Always new thing pops up unexpectedly so I was glad that I had a rather open day to observe those new asks.

I got home, finished packing for São Paulo work trip this Wednesday to Saturday. I found a winter dress that I haven’t used since 2017, so happy to be using it again this week as it’s quite cold these days.

I had a big bowl of multigrain rice, beans, and vegetables (broccoli and spinach) for dinner, alone, in the dark, with Bubble making me company.

Now I’m waiting for the girls to come back from swimming to catch up with their day.

A surpassingly slow and chill Monday.
