This week is a bit off, mainly because I’m taking few days off running. That has caused mild depression for a while until this morning when I spent 3 hours at the gym and tried two new workouts.
Pilates reformer. It was a 40 min class with maybe 20 min of medium intensity. I liked it and will return. The studio looks nice

And then I tried the indoor cycling class. The instructor doesn’t ride with us, he basically talked through the whole 50 min class. It was interesting and makes more sense as he could look at students and cheer everyone up without exerting himself. I loved it and my HR reached 138 which is a big deal when cycling. Already booked another class

Other random things:
Watching Bubble playing whatever she can find

I came home early most of days this week and enjoyed some time alone before the family arrives. I love the quiet time as I spoke so much during office hours this week, and appreciate the silence before I welcome the family and ready to give them my full atention.
I can’t believe it’s already mid September! Sofia birthday is coming up and I still haven’t bought her gifts.
Our house was a total disaster until Wednesday as our helper went away for a trip and only came back on Tuesday. Gosh.. I don’t know how to keep a house clean without her and the amount of dishes. I should stop cooking when she’s not around.
I started two new books and DNf both of them. I need a good book to be obsessed with. Please tell me the book that you were last obsessed with.
I feel I’m behind with things but feel lazy to actually remember them, much less doing them.
I loved that my BFF sent me a pic of her trip in Korea now, how her family is loving the dumplings. It makes me miss them and the dumplings.
Weekend plan: more time at thr gym, resume running, minimal cooking this time, and hopefully find a good book.
Oh yay, I love that you enjoyed the cycling class. I remember when I took my first cycling classes at the gym… that was so much fun. It’s great cross training too!

I wonder what you would think of ‘Daughters of the Bamboo Grove’. It’s about international adoptions from China during its one child policy era. But as a Chinese resident, it would probably be a hard read. Another immersive book for me was ‘The River is Waiting’.
