On Tuesday I took Cookie to the vet dentist, just around the corner of hour house. It looks like a professional dentist clinic, just for cats and dogs.

This is the doctor who’s sooooo sweet. She manage to exam Cookie’s mouth without her fighting back, which was a miracle. she did spend few minutes sweet talking to Cookie before she laid hand on her, giving me assurance that she loves cats (she has a rescue cat herself).

then she explained to me what could have caused the tooth to fall off, how gum disease happens to cat, and what we will do. Given Cookie’s situation, she’ll have to be given anesthesia, after blood and heart exam to assess if she has other conditions before the surgery, and then the doctor will assess all her teeth, extract those compromised and deep clean the rest.

Cookie behaved well while we talked although looks a bit scared what to come

Then next day, Cookie was fasting for 8 hrs before taking to the clinic. The doctor performed all the test and extracted 3 more tooth. Looks this operating table, gosh…. I can’t believe how professional

when I saw her, she looked soooo scared. Her eyes look different and her mouth a bit inflamed. My heart ached so much seeing her that way. she looked scared, in pain, yet she is a fighter and didn’t allow anyone to touch her. It took two nurses to put her back in the bag.

Clearly she was uncomfortable. we got home and I didn’t know Bubble was not locked. Cookie just passed by Bubble without attacking her, meaning she was so vulnerable. That night she must have suffered so much and barely ate or drink.

the next day we struggled to give her meds. How do you give pills to cats????? Fortunately the doctor sent us a video how to do it as we managed to give her all the meds at once.
7pm, I went to bed where Cookie was, we laid down together for a while. She seems a bit more calm and her eyes returned to normal.

This morning she came to greet me when I woke up, rubbing my legs, and meowing. I think she’s more comfortable now.
I didn’t realize how much my heart moves with her wellbeing until now, the same way as with other members of the core family. I am grateful to have good doctors who took good care of her, gave me assurance that cookie will recover well, not having 4 tooth won’t affect her eating.
Cookie is a fighter, sweet heart to Sofia, and fierce with everyone else. We love her so much.
