Day 202: recipe testing & a great documentary

I had written down 8 new recipes to try in October, and I made 3 already! YAY! Girls’ helped me to make the vegan oatmeal chocolate cookie.

I had baked a whole pumpkin for my morning oatmeal so had tons of puree leftover, so for this week’s bread, I made pumpkin bread (but not sweet)

I just love seeing bread rising process. It requires little attention but patience.

cookies done! These are rather healthy cookies it uses oatmeal, whole wheat flour, maple syrup and almond butter. Okay, and chocolate chips, which is a healthy for the soul.

Girls’ demanded to have pancake house’s spaghetti for lunch, it’s their treat of the month.

Yummy lunch for everyone. Then I finished the documentary on Bill Gates. When it finished, I said beautiful! I was never interested on his life until I learned that Gates foundation’s mission. Few highlights:

  • Warrant Buffet was asked if giving 37 billion to the foundation was a difficult decision. He said: when you think everyone has equal right in life, then it is not hard.
  • Make time to unplug and recharge, no matter how busy you are.
  • Each one of us has to start out with developing his or her own definition of success. And when we have these specific expectations of ourselves, we’re more likely to live up to them. Ultimately, it’s not what you get or even what you give. It’s what you become.

3 days weekend was fantastic! Ready to tackle my overflowing inbox! 🙂

  1. YUM those cookies look so good. I love oatmeal in cookies. I like oatmeal/raisin cookies probably even better than oatmeal/ chocolate chip, but I like almost any cookie. 🙂 I started watching the Bill Gates documentary last spring I think, and just haven’t had time to finish it! I don’t watch much TV alone really- either it’s something with the kids, or our show with my husband. I used to use my treadmill more often and we have a TV mounted in front of it, so that was always a great time to watch shows or series on my own. I tend to use it more in the winter, so maybe I will again as the weather gets colder. Hope you have a great week!!!! Sounds like a lovely weekend. 🙂
