A very fun day. Golf milestone

It was a busy and fun Friday here in Manila. I promised hubby to try 18 holes with him for a long time. But due to laziness, time commitment, and that we can’t do it on weekends (kids activities), we haven’t done it so far. I finally committed to it yesterday and I am so glad I went. I’ve realized that golf is becoming running for me in early days… I’d hesitate a lot to go but each time I was glad I went.

I had an early breakfast before we left (7am) as it usually takes 4-5 hrs for the game. Avocado toast with egg. We don’t always get those creamy imported avocado in Manila (local ones are really bad), so when I see them I can’t get enough of them.

We started 7:50am. I thought early enough to beat the sun but it was not early enough. By 9am, it was like noon. Look our team mate…. he was taking a 1 min nap on the grass. so funny.

We paired up with two solo players as a team. I really enjoyed the camaraderie of playing with others. When one player did a good swing, we all cheered him up, and when it’s not a good one, we’d still say few encouragement words. At the end of 4.5 hrs play, we felt like playing with them a long time. I was proud that I didn’t drag them back as I’m the most inexperienced one in the team. After 4-5 holes, I felt good and was playing well, even finished 2 holes before the boys. So happy! The best part is doing it with hubby…. I know how happy playing together makes him.

We were starving when we got home, so super grateful that lunch was ready

Then I had to deal with some urgent work emails, and went to my dentist for a check-up. After that, hubby picked me up and we went to have a couple massage. Meanwhile, Lizzy had her first post-pandemic swimming lesson with her coach and played with her classmate afterwards.

This morning I realized the price of my 18 holes debut: sunburn. hahahah… I think I need to gear up my sun protection for the upcoming plays. ๐Ÿ˜€ Also, next time we’d aim 6am start time! ๐Ÿ˜†

Thanks for suggestions on the blogging time. I think I’ll give up posting in the morning so I don’t feel bad about not being able to. Realistically I can’t fit it in. Maybe I’ll try assigning 30 min before work starts.

I like daily blogging because the main reason I haven’t given up blogging after a decade is that I enjoy the reflective writing process, journalling our simple life musings and joys, and be able to go back and see it in the future. Once I figure out why I want to blog, why it is important to blog almost daily, then I am determined to fit it in my daily schedule, just like I fit in meditation, exercising, journaling, reading. If it’s important, I’ll make it work. ๐Ÿ˜€
